@howmanytraits@ChrisGPackham@JeremyClarkson The climate change we are witnessing now is due to over two centuries of fossil fuel use. Guess which country has the highest per capita cumulative emissions
@PeterDClack It is possible to measure and attribute to anthropogenic CO2 emissions. Fossil fuels and biogenic emissions have a different ratio for the concentration of carbon isotopes, specifically the ratio of carbon 13 to carbon 12
@JohnJohnStewart I’m not convinced floating stops generally endanger the safety of blind people. Floating stops are common in NL and DE. Any blanket rule would be a mistaken. It depends on space provided for people. The best safety for the blind would be to ban cars entirely
@SocEnvJustice@indieHackney@willnorman@VincentStops@carolewilliams Are you suggesting that only women cyclists are allowed to have an opinion about the rapidly growing number of women choose to use a bike? That the number of women cyclists is increasing rapidly and catching up with men is something to celebrate. No?
@meadwaj It’s clear The Greens are not a challenge to reform. We need our own Poplar movement. They don’t have any leaders of the calibre of George Lansbury. They just put their candidates everywhere and get in the way of people who actually want to build resistance
@latimeralder How will you deal with the extreme weather caused by climate change, which is likely to cause flooding in the Thames Valley? How will not putting on a cardigan will help?
@prwright55@LostInArms@latimeralder There are many forms of grid scale back up. This can include international subsea cables to the continent, grid scale batteries, pumped hydro. They all have different capabilities. The real point is there is an ever decreasing role for fossil gas generation
@LostInArms@latimeralder Here is another graphic that explains why UK electricity is so expensive: the wholesale price is set by gas 98% of the time. Compare this with France where electricity is much cheaper
