We're going to be on TV! Monday, June 15. We got interviewed on our way back from Mongolia and the crew came to visit us in Atami. It's wonderful that Atami's unique Geisha culture will be showcased on national TV, thanks to our geisha friend, Chizuho san.
My respect and gratitude to all the men and women who sacrificed to protect the society and values I've been so lucky to enjoy. And thank you to those who continue to serve today. ANZAC Day 2026.
Earlier this month, I took my family to visit @GeishaHouseA in Atami (็ฑๆตท), where we all enjoyed supper accompanied by a lively geisha party. Shamisen, games, dance! The art of these entertainers has become a rare treat that should be preserved.

A few times a year there is a music event for the community in Atami called JiBa festival. We usually play a few songs. Today was super fun. Met a great musical couple from Tokyo who played some awesome enka songs.

Muddy Cat, Atami: It is not a cat cafe, but it is a funky bar where the resident cats can choose to come downstairs and spend time with customers, if and when it suits them. A great place to enjoy the company of geisha like Chizuho san.
On Monday I brought my visiting family to @GeishaHouseA in Atami (็ฑๆตท) to meet real geisha (่ธ่ ). My nephews had a blast playing the zashiki (ๅบงๆท) games like this one!
I shall post more pictures of their experience soon.
Rosemary cafe in Atami is one of the best dining experiences I've had. Perfect flavours, rich but not heavy. Lunch special is only 3000 yen for main, salad, gratin/soup, dessert, tea and coffee. Outstanding.
