Heartbreaking to wake up this morning to the tragic hate crime that occured last night in New Zealand. My deepest sympathies and prayers are with the Al Noor and Linwood mosques and the rest of New Zealand. We must stand together against bigotry and hatred across the world.
Dreamers are our co-workers, friends and neighbors. They contribute to our economy and communities. Their dreams are our dreams. We’re calling on the new Congress to uphold American values and permanently protect the Dreamers.
We lost two great Americans today – Frank Robinson and John Dingell – citizens who inspired me and so many others by leading on the civil rights issues of our time, opening doors to others, and leaving it all on the field.
“I am good, but not an angel. I do sin, but I am not the devil. I am just a small girl in a big world trying to find someone to love.” #marilynmonroe Show love to those trying to find their way. Show love to ourselves. Let’s talk & take the time to actually listen #BellLetsTaIk
Every #BellLetsTalk Day, Canadians come together to speak out, break down stigma and talk openly about our mental health. We’ve come so far, but there’s still a long way to go. RT this and Bell donates 5 cents to mental health programs across the country.
35 years ago, Macintosh said hello. It changed the way we think about computers and went on to change the world. We love the Mac, and today we’re proud that more people than ever are using it to follow their passions and create the future.
Finished reading Sons and Soldiers by @BHendersonBooks at my local #Starbucks. It is a remarkable journey of six courageous German-born Jews who escaped the horrors of the Nazis and returned to fight Hitler. Next up: Educated. #goodreads
Finished reading Hillbilly Elegy by @JDVance1. The author reflects on the struggles of growing up poor in chaos and the narrow road to the American dream. JD made it and so can others. Next up: Sons and Soldiers. #goodreads
I have some BIG news. I’m seeking the @liberal_party nomination for Vancouver Kingsway. This is something I’m very excited about + so is my family. I want to use my voice in a positive way to make a difference. I hope you will support me. 🇨🇦 https://t.co/fZbemMz28z #TeamTrudeau
On #HumanRightsDay, we thank those around the world who work hard every day to advance human rights and protect the world’s most vulnerable: https://t.co/z34WCRIe1j
“All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.” 70 years ago, the UN Declaration of Human Rights gave us a blueprint for a better world. #HumanRightsDay
On this day, we don't remember the destruction of Pearl Harbor. We remember the selflessness Americans showed that day as they risked themselves to save their fellow servicemembers, and we remember the resilience that followed. To all who served and sacrificed, thank you.
Remember their names, and honour their memory. On December 6, we pay tribute to the women killed in the Polytechnique massacre, and to all victims of gender-based violence. https://t.co/0nhgKXk5yA
“We must not and will not rest until every man and woman with a dream has the means to achieve it.” As we mourn the passing of President George H.W. Bush, we thank him for a lifetime of service to our great nation.
