@tomfgoodwin They exist to maximise value extraction, which can mean getting the customer to spend in new categories rather than simply buying more of the same. I’d also argue Amazon Prime is a loyalty programme, just one where they have chosen to share the costs of running it with customers.
In Casino Royale, David Corenswet says Bond gets his second kill in the bathroom, not in the office
“My hot take is, everyone thinks the second kill is when Bond kills the main bad guy in the office later and he’s like, ‘Yes, considerably.’
“But what actually happened is, experientially, Bond already had his second kill because he drowned the guy and then had to shoot him.”
“So, in his experience, he had to go through drowning the guy, thought he was dead, thought that he had had his first kill, and then the guy woke up and he just shot him. So, that’s actually the second kill in his mind that was super easy.”
“It’s a human experience thing. The point is not the second person you kill, it’s the second experience of killing.”

This is odd - “burning money for views”? If this was a traditional TV ad, that’d be the whole point = mass exposure. Here it’s seen as a waste as it didn’t translate into likes, and viewed as simply done to support a PR claim (which may be true) as if the mass reach has 0 value.
No brand has ever changed their logo later than they should have.
About 50% of brands refresh them far to fast , mostly because people feel they need to look productive and get bored

@davetrott There’s one at my local garage. Want to try it but I always forget to read how it works after filling up. Typed in the big URL at the top of the machine but it leads nowhere useful - you have to Google it to find the real site. Great idea, but it badly needs a redirect!
I’ve been sceptical of Universal Basic Income ‘cause who would fund it? If the plan is tax big tech for killing jobs, history shows they’ll evade it, and leave it to others. News that one has torrented books for AI proves they prioritise winning over responsibility. UBI is a lie.

Proud that @guardian recommended our work with @CoopFuneralcare as one of the best TV shows to watch. The series aims to normalise conversations around death by having celebrities plan each other’s funerals without discussing their wishes beforehand

Latest roadside ad for EE TV. But why is the remote control flipped horizontally? If an error, how did this get out the door? Or am I missing something?
