@Nicholasan68973 @MikePMoffatt I think it was the drop in interest rates. People forget that proportionately, dropping from 3% to 2 % is drastically greater than dropping from 11% to 10%. One’s buying power skyrockets.

@MikePMoffatt Excellent analysis. No question the 90s had flat prices everywhere as I recall. It was the constant decrease in interest rates plus rising wages that drove prices up. On that basis, the next ten years are likely to be flat as rates stabilize and real wages struggle, I would guess

Canada has long been weak in encouraging fair competition in the marketplace. Parliament just passed a new Competition Act, supported by all parties that is a game-changer. This is great news that has been long overdue. Well done Ottawa.

@WrayAJ It’s rather basic - you have to offer competitive salaries. I could say the same about city councillors - where London positions are paid half of a similar-sized city like Hamilton. Compensation attracts talent. It’s that simple.

@melanie_korach This past spring, here in #ldnont , I dropped to the ground across from my house due to a sudden back spasm. A man instantly pulled off the road to check if I was okay. Another couple stopped on the road and asked about me. A third couple, my neighbour, spotted me and ran over💕
