@YorkshireGT Members and visitors enjoyed a fantastic presentation by @JohnMGrimshaw followed by a walk around Ray Wood. An absolute hidden gem at @YorksArboretum - well worth a visit.

theres a walrus lost in scarborough. so hes just decided to knock one out in front of us all on the pier. no fucks given 😆 #wankingwalrus
@GardenEclectic @Urban_Creations Noted about the fluidity of Quercus genetics and entirely agree, but this looks like a large-leaved Q. ilex, which can happen.
@PeterGWeather A pendulous Ash rather than 'Pendula' - it happens every now and then. I see a rather droopy one on the way to work, next to an upright one: the habit is very varied. This looks lovely.
#AdventCalendar 20 Dec. Apple 'Ashmead's Kernel'. My favourite fruit, at perfect ripeness now, intensely aromatic with the perfect blend of sweetness and acidity, and crisp firm flesh. Raised by Dr Ashmead in Gloucester c. 1700. #mykitchen#apple#heritage#pomology
#AdventCalendar 18 Dec. Lilium nepalense by Lilian Snelling 1937. Hand-coloured lithograph, 56x38 cm, from Vol 5 of 'A Supplement to Elwes' Monograph of the Genus Lilium' by A Grove & AD Cotton. #mycollection#mylibrary#botanicalart#lilium
#AdventCalendar 16 December. Portrait in oils of a Maasai warrior, signed AC (unknown, Kenya settler?), but after a postcard photograph in the series 'L'Afrique qui disparait!', 1930s, by Casimir Zagourski (1880-1941). #mycollection#portrait#maasai#Africa
