Help #UrbanDesign Twitter! I'm trying to find a book I read years ago that documented the proportions of famous squares and plazas around the world, comparing width to height of adjacent buildings. Only example I remember is St. Mark's in Venice. Similar to an Allan Jacobs book.
Vienna’s centre really pushes at enclosure ratios (very high & often narrow streets). Nor is it all pedestrian as here. But gosh it’s good. Walkable. Beautiful. Intense. Huge variety of homes, offices, museums, shops all within not many minutes of each other.
