@CaffeSatoshi The late, great Murray Stahl talked about this a lot. the interplay between mining economics and Bitcoin’s price: https://t.co/7FAhEB1mjE
@StockJabber@CCM_Brett There is a company in the market who does this called Sonder $SOND. Think they have probably 18 months left before going bankrupt. My takeaway: It is very hard to overcome the network effects of Airbnb. Not to mention once Airbnb begins to build out a loyalty program.
@jayvas The more I’ve been digging into $ABNB, the more I’m seeing this as a generational compounder similar to a visa or Mastercard, so I totally agree with you. The network effects, negative cash conversion cycle, and Cheskys clarity/intensity as a CEO (especially post COVID) 🤌
@ATG_Capital Agree. Clearly the new directors have 0 backbone and it calls into question their fitness for sitting on any board at this point. Would not shock me if they try to save face, but I think it’s too little to late.
@stockthoughts81 Licensing. $MSFT makes it difficult for companies to move their SQLserver and windows licenses from on-prem to any other cloud other than Azure. Also, the azure numbers are not the true IaaS numbers since they lump in O365 and other businesses into that.
@chriswmayer Wondering if $TPL will take their royalty in #Bitcoin or USD? Given how bullish Murray is on bitcoin, I could see them taking it their cut in-kind.
@EdgeCGroup $DOCN. It’s fairly priced and virtually the only pure play IaaS provider, since AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud are buried in much larger companies.
@mailboxmoney6 Having said all that, my cost basis is much lower so I’m just holding and not going to try and time the market. I would be kicking myself if oil rockets above $100 and I had paid a hefty tax bill and was trying to get back in. Sure $vnom is cheaper but TPL is the devil I know.
@mailboxmoney6 Agree that the valuation is very rich. The only way I think we see it grow into those multiples is with oil prices continuing to climb (a lot). Otherwise, this reminds me of a few years back when it was at $900 and similar multiples. We know how that went…
