This is my final day at @InQldMedia. Thanks a bunch to those who've helped ensure Queenslanders continue to have access to quality journalism and commentary without agendas. It's been fun.
Hey @LydiaLynch101. That “exclusive” of yours about youth detention centres was covered extensively by @InQldMedia and the @brisbanetimes over the past week. Fess up.
Gareth Evans: As attorney-general and later as Foreign Affairs minister, for both ASIO and ASIS, I was badly burnt politically in my first year in each job for taking too much of their doomsaying at face value. https://t.co/8ZqBOFqkDx
Very good piece by @madonnamking on some of the detail in the recent Coaldrake and Fitzgerald reports: "Based on what we see, the ability to reconcile the conflicting views is close to zero." https://t.co/FAMRA6PX5V
The late great Wallace Brown at @couriermail refused to cover the 30 year release of Cabinet papers in Canberra because it reminded him of all the stories he missed.
This looks like a very positive move.
(Although I suspect there will be a few archivist/political historian types who will be secretly a bit disappointed they won’t get to be part of the annual ‘historic reveal’ of 20/30 year old papers anymore)
