Last night, Russia killed 22 people and wounded 130.
Do you know what was unusual about the attack? Russia used more ballistic missiles than cruise missiles.
Why?
Because Russia knows that Ukraine is running short of ballistic missile interceptors.
So where are all the partners who say they stand with Ukraine providing us with those interceptors?
We have emergency now, they don’t.
Zelensky has just warned that this might Russia might bomb again.
Unfortunately, the current level of supplies for our air defense does not allow us to intercept a significant share of missiles. Last night, there were hits. 130 people were injured. Tragically, 22 people were killed, including two children. My condolences to all those who have lost their loved ones.
We know from intelligence that another large-scale strike may come as soon as tonight. All our partners together, and everyone in Europe, should continue working to ensure missiles for our air defense, as well as the systems, critical intelligence, and other things that help to save lives.
It is crystal clear that Europe needs its own anti-ballistic system with sufficient volumes and strength to guarantee protection against any threat.
Since last night, first responders and all necessary services have been working wherever needed. As of now, at least 83 people have been confirmed injured since midnight. Tragically, there are fatalities. My condolences to the families and loved ones.
It was a heavy attack – 90 missiles of various types, many of them ballistic missiles – 36 in total. There were 600 drones. Unfortunately, not all of the ballistic missiles were intercepted – the largest number of hits was in Kyiv. Kyiv was the primary target of this Russian attack.
Putin can’t even pronounce the word “hurrah” clearly anymore – slurs and mumbles – yet he is still vanquishing residential buildings with his missiles. Launched three Russian missiles against a water supply facility. Burned down a market. Damaged dozens of residential buildings. Hit several ordinary schools. Launched his “Oreshnik” against Bila Tserkva. They really are unhinged.
It is important that this does not pass without consequences for Russia. Today, everyone in the world who will not stay silent and chooses to help Ukraine is a defender of life. It is critically important to continue working to secure air defense for Ukraine, especially anti-ballistic capabilities.
We are doing our best to achieve peace and protect people – everything. It is important that Ukraine is not alone. Decisions are needed – from the United States, from Europe and others – to make that old “Oreshnik” in Moscow finally utter the word “peace.”
Russia hit a dead-end on the battlefield, so it terrorizes Ukraine with deliberate strikes on city centres.
These are abhorrent acts of terror meant to kill as many civilians as possible.
Moscow reportedly using Oreshnik intermediate-range ballistic missiles – systems designed to carry nuclear warheads – is a political scare-tactic and reckless nuclear-brinkmanship.
Next week, EU Foreign Ministers will discuss how to dial up the international pressure on Russia.
Russia Is a Terrorist State.
I wish my government would do more to protect Ukrainians from these attacks. Embarrassed that the US is just walking away right now. Hope that will change.
Only five wars in Europe's very bloody history of wars have been more bloody than the war in Ukraine:
WW2 (1939-1945)
WW1 (1914-1918)
The Thirty Years War (1618-1648)
Napoleonic war(s) (1803-1815)
Russian civil war (1917-1923)
This is how serious it is. Remember that every single day and support Ukraine to end the suffering.
"We forced Ukraine to give up nuclear weapons, cruise missiles, and strategic bombers.
We promised to protect Ukraine from Russia.
We made Ukraine vulnerable.
So yes, this is our war.."
- Bill Clinton

70% of Americans strongly support Ukraine. It is time that Congress reflect the will of the people and stand with freedom. I am glad we have 218 signatures on the discharge petition that will bring this vote to the floor.
@NickKristof@Megankstack I’m sick of your hatred and animosity against Israel. People won’t take anything you write seriously unless you look at both sides.
Really didn’t like S1 of Rooster. Ending was not good. My biggest issue was with Katie saying she wanted to get back with her ex, then changing her mind 36 hours later. Not cool. He messes up her life so she messes up his? I’m not into that.
