I always thought it would take a pretty major crisis to make BTC move from being a growth-like asset to a competitor to gold as store-of-value. Maybe that time is now.
Anyone interested in AGI should definitely take a look at a brief history of intelligence by Max Bennet.
It explains through how different cognitive abilities were layered on top of each other as brains became more complex.
A couple of other things that stood out for me:
1. There seems to be pretty good evidence for RL being used in the brain via the dopamine reward pathway.
2. Many human abilities in vision, motor, etc are supported by generative models.
This shows how difficult it is to build privacy into mobile devices
on device = good privacy but poor UX
private cloud = expensive to build and people need to trust the cloud provider
This will be THE killer app for crypto when zk/FHE/MPC and compute matures.
The merger will combine the strengths of the three protocols in different areas.
Singularity = Symbolic AI
Ocean = Data and privacy
Fetch = Agents and ML
Interesting to see how the extra scale allows $ASI to compete with the next wave of AI projects.
We are proud to announce the Superintelligence Alliance ($ASI) π§
This announcement marks the merging of https://t.co/kJ9URVpOul, @SingularityNET, and @oceanprotocol into the single largest #decentralizedAI project in the world

So claude-3 has "average" human performance in IQ tests, but this is likely just memorization of its training set.
Humans can do a similar thing, which is why IQ tests aren't a good measure of intelligence.

It's been a while since I last took a look at @coingecko.
Amazing to see the progress of crypto x AI projects. @Fetch_ai had a very similar protocol to $TAO way back in 2020.
Tip-of-the-day: don't think, build and ship.
... and there are some proposed changes to core Bitcoin (covenants) that would only require a soft fork and would enable cheap trustless zk-bridges.
Expect to see another big war between the maxis and everyone else πΏ
A great thread by Mikko on the current limitations of Bitcoin L2s. I'd also add:
It is possible to add economic security to multisig bridges (through stake slashing on the L2) so some like Cosmos/IBC are better than others.
Reminder/PSA: Your iPhone and its passcode are enough to completely & permanently take over and lock you out of your Apple account and all of its content (e.g. years of personal photos). Thieves/scammers everywhere love these "features".

There's a lot of popular sci-fi fears about terminator-style AI apocalypse but much easier to avoid this if there's openness and transparency in how these models are used.
To put today's FTSE 100 fall into perspective, the market dropped more than it did either after the mini-budget or the invasion of Ukraine.
Amid the travails of Credit Suisse, fears about the financial system are getting very serious...
The biggest barrier to agent-based systems in mobile phones and edge devices isn't compute, it's battery life.
That will change when next-gen batteries like these make it into production.
