@wittgenfine I think, on some level, that's ok. If we can be nostalgic for school days and making turkeys by tracing our hands it makes just as much sense to be nostalgic for the ads we used to see too. Aging means it's all on you. Nostalgia is for a time when the world held our hands.
@NickChaps96 Miss Disneyland Tencennial! This segment is included on the double-disc Walt Disney Treasures "Disneyland, USA" DVD in 2001. I've lost count of how many times I've watched this for a sweet hit of nostalgia.
@BCWallin I know they didn't have 2 planned ("we wouldn't have put Jennifer in the car", they said) but my headcannon is Doc brings her along AS HIS PLAN: she'll get taken to the McFly house so she'll learn about the Rolls-Royce -> and thus Marty will move past the "chicken" thing.
@owenbroadcast To me the answer has to be "yes", because that's what I think TRUE Omnipotence would be. Full knowledge/access to every piece of information that ever was or will be, and also all "could be's". And Omnipotence could handle holding all that knowledge and access it easily.
Nothing ruins old Seinfeld episodes (leaving aside any of the post-show behavior than any of the actors) like the stupid audience whooping it up for every Kramer entrance. Like shut up and let the show just exist. End of season 4, start of season 5, it’s egregious.
This has nothing to do with being pro or anti Death Penalty...but FL is getting ready to execute a guy who's been on Death Row since 1996. 30 YEARS! If justice delayed is justice denied, what is even the point? Three decades? That feels nuts. Either do it faster or get rid of it.
@dveese They didn’t air a single trailer or commercial for anyone who hadn’t watched the show. Just expected you to know who Mando and Baby Yoda were. Nothing to introduce the characters and their world and connect them to the other Star Wars movies. Baffling to me.
@KolleenCarney Yeah, like, imagine complaining because the Simpsons took a story or thing that already existed and made it memorable. This poster would hate me that I think of the Simpsons every time I hear anything about the Northern Lights. Like, sorry pop culture ate my brain.
@BillSimmons They've won so many times this century, though. As have the Patriots and Celtics and Bruins. I just can't feel sad during a down Boston sports season. I've gotten to see the mountaintop in all 4 major sports. That's comfort enough for a hundred bleak Sox seasons, to me.
@notherPllanet Surfs Up is the song I'd play for someone if they asked me to describe what music in paradise might sound like. It's lush and beautiful and just the right amount of melancholy. Not sad or happy but...wistful.
@CopaExMachina Is the streaming service in question here free? Am I getting to watch 2001 without cost to myself, only some commercial breaks? Then I still consider myself a winner, and consider the streaming service a good value.
@isabellaamidala It would be cool to run Anakin’s dialogue through a James Earl Jones Inator. Imagine Vader saying “I killed them. Not just the men but the women and the children too. They’re animals and I slaughtered them like animals.” It would be badass.
@KolleenCarney I feel like you’re on the Miracle Mile in the photo and I want to ask if you’ve seen any crazy looking trombone players. Also KLUTE HIVE!
