What your children really want for dinner is you!

In an age of constant online connection, we may need to disconnect from technologies and other distractions to truly reconnect with our families.

Families grow stronger when they set aside these distractions and spend meaningful time together—learning eternal values like the importance of marriage and children, the purpose of life, and the true source of joy.

Parents also have a duty to teach their children practical knowledge apart from gospel principles. Families unite when they do meaningful things together. Happy family experiences strengthen family ties. Camping, sports activities, and other recreation are especially valuable for bonding families.

Some may say, “But we have no time for any of that.” To find time to do what is truly worthwhile, many parents will find that they can turn their families on if they all turn their technologies off.

What those we love need most is simply time with us. Our Savior, Jesus Christ, is our ultimate role model. He will help us as we strive to build these family bonds.

Next year the SEC moves to 9 conference games.

If they had 9 conference games this year, there is a 90% that some combination of Alabama, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Georgia, and Oklahoma would have had to play each other in at least one game.

Texas A&M - 57% odds
Alabama - 29%
Ole Miss - 29%
Oklahoma - 29%
Georgia - 29%
Total odds of two teams meeting up: 89.93%

There is a 38% that two matchups would have come out of these five.

Additionally, there is somewhere between a 35-40% that another one of these teams would have straight up lost against someone else in the SEC (tough to calculate with unknown opponents)

If you add up all the totals, there is a 98% that if the SEC was playing nine games, at least one team would lose, and about a 47% that two or more teams lose.

BYU and Utah could have really used that this year.

Next year can't come soon enough.

I got done trying to teach my children things we could do every day to show that we follow Jesus.

They were absolutely horrendous—I’d ask a question and they weren’t listening.

I was so frustrated and annoyed.

BYU was 2-4 in 2019. Lost to Utah for the 9th consecutive time. 6-0 ranked Boise was coming to town to surely put a nail in Kalani’s career in Provo.

Baylor Romney (BYUs 3rd string QB) had other plans. One of the most impactful moments in BYU history as this led to Kalani getting extended shortly after… and the rest is history.
