@spfl absolute disgrace. VAR and the standard of officiating in the top league is not fit for purpose.
Celticβs 12th man to the rescue yet again, and guaranteed it wonβt be the last time this season. Bunker down Jambos, youβre next.
Something I've learned about match day confidence over the years
Last-minute pep talks might get players hyped, but real confidence comes from preparation and my "no surprises" rule.
Here's how I think about building genuine match confidence... π
I was completely floored!
Have you ever sat with someone and thought "wow"?
Sharing 1 hour with ex Man City Coach, Pete Lowe was it for me.
I've had 145+ interviews, BUT, this one challenged me at every turn. π§΅
One of the quickest and easiest ways to improve teamwork is to have your players pick three action-based words related to the style they wish to play inβ¦and label those words your teamβs High Performance Mindset (see first picture below).
You can then link the words to actions youβd like to see on the pitch, and behaviours youβd like to see across the team. You can have an all-in feel to build and broaden understanding of team High Performance Mindset (see second picture below for what we specifically did at Feyenoord)
Keep reinforcing those words in activities. Have players support each other with relation to these words (huddles; in-game comms)
I did this with a Premier League team last season, and across numerous high school and College programmes in the U.Sβ¦

Here comes the 3v3 rocket ship to super charge English football.
Of course I would go further and have 3v3 at U8 as well but that is me!
Huge moment that many of us have been waiting years for.
Weβve been presented with a myth in much of modern day β½οΈcoaching where technique doesnβt matter.
To the degree that it is basically ignored in coaching courses.
In fact it is everything to the truly top players.
It actually leads to higher level decisions
In games
"Why do players perform well in drills but struggle in games?
Often, the answer is representativeness. Many drills remove key game info, while full matches donβt provide chances for them to explore the skill
So how do we fix this? Letβs talk about the Task Simplification
