@PastorMark The idea that YOU think you get to decide who “gets to have a relationship with Jesus” is beyond absurd. Theology aside, the only people who have ANY input on the state of a relationship between Jesus & Derek are… Jesus & Derek. You claiming otherwise is preposterously arrogant.
To all the web developers out there, if for some reason you need to set an arbitrarily lower character limit on passwords, please give an error & refuse to proceed if given a password in excess of said limit. Simply truncating to the first x characters & saving is infuriating.
macOS Ventura v13.0.1 bug: I went to install the 13.1 update and was prompted for an administrative password (I run logged in as a non admin user normally). It failed with my admin username and password, but succeeded with my current user.
Am I the only one who’s noticed this?
@tlark8@Contains_ENG For a while now I’ve thought the yearly major cycle was more negative than positive. New features and UI are exciting, but taking the time to really fix the bugs, much less an optimization and refinement release like Snow Leopard seems impossible.
@Contains_ENG As an admin I usually run the beta on my main system, and definitely by .0 release. As @rtrouton said it’s useful to have firsthand experience with the bugs. Regardless, I feel you @Contains_ENG, some stuff can get annoying, especially this close to release.
@Ihnatko If you haven’t already, it’s worth splitting the “Fusion Drive” and using the SSD (if it was the spinning disk that failed). Unless of course it’s the SKU that used 32GB SSD’s. Then it’s all garbage. :-)
@NovaRockafeller Set it all up using the “Music” app on your computer. Or, if you wanna avoid streaming costs, you can just plug in the iPhone and use the “Finder” app.
@NovaRockafeller $10/month for Apple Music gives you unlimited streaming from their catalog AND lets you wirelessly sync and stream any personal music (outside their library) as well.
Yo @macvfx, have you seen this? While still not exactly engineered in the manner I was hoping (likely because of Apple TOS), this could end up being an interesting offering similar to Microsoft's Windows365 for macOS users: https://t.co/T14QSqdFxS
@rtrouton While Mac OS X Server v.10.4 indeed still utilized NetInfo/berkelyDB for local accounts, didn’t it use OpenLDAP for it’s Directory Services (and even Samba for Windows Domain services), and then subsequently bring /var/db/local in 10.5 fully killing NetInfo for Leopard?
