This is not a moment for complacency. We expect the government to act to defend Britain’s national security, and the safety of those targeted by the Iranian regime.
We are appalled by the effusive welcome Alaa Abd El-Fattah has received from the UK government. The Prime Minister recently reiterated his determination to root out antisemitism from our country but has now shared his delight that someone who has advocated for killing Zionists has arrived in the UK. We know from Heaton Park, Manchester and Bondi Beach that there are those who hear such words as a call to action. The government has celebrated Mr Abd El-Fattah's arrival as a victory, British Jews will see it as yet another reminder of the danger we face.
I’m delighted that Alaa Abd El-Fattah is back in the UK and has been reunited with his loved ones, who must be feeling profound relief.
I want to pay tribute to Alaa’s family, and to all those that have worked and campaigned for this moment.
Alaa's case has been a top priority for my government since we came to office. I’m grateful to President Sisi for his decision to grant the pardon.
The Gov’t said only last week that Jews are welcome and safe in the UK - unless, it seems, you’re a Jewish football fan living in the world’s largest Jewish community in the only Jewish state.
A Judenrein football match, in 2025.
A day of shame for the UK. https://t.co/G8EgakNrLv
“Rom was pressured to convert to Islam. They told him he would be compensated with food if he converted,”
Tami, the mother of Rom Braslavski, said her son was held in multiple locations, including places where the bodies of hostages were kept.
During his two years in captivity under Palestinian Islamic Jihad, Rom was repeatedly pressured to convert in exchange for food, but he always refused. The moment he returned home, he put on his tefilin.
Tami added that Rom was violently beaten and tortured by PIJ, subjected to physical and psychological abuse, and denied basic hygiene.
In the days before his release, his captors force-fed him, leaving lasting effects on his health.
They also tried to manipulate him with lies, claiming Iran had bombed Israel, that the country was nearly destroyed, buildings had collapsed, and some 3,000 soldiers were dead.
They even showed him images of Hostages Square in Tel Aviv, telling him his photo wasn’t there, that no one was talking about him and his family was too broken to protest.
Now that Rom is home, he can’t stop looking out the window. “Rom stands at the window looking at the sky. He says all he wants is the sky, sun, and air — freedom.”
Starmer has come up with the worst possible way to recognise a Palestinian state, which makes the ceasefire he claims to want even less likely than it is now by making it even less attractive to Hamas.
By announcing that if a ceasefire is agreed then the UK won't go ahead with recognition, the UK government has managed to find a new way to encourage Hamas not to agree to a ceasefire or to release the hostages.
Just astonishing how inept this lot are. Utterly clueless.
Our Prime Minister’s declaration that the UK will recognise a Palestinian state in September unless Israel agrees to a ceasefire is morally indefensible.
There are still hostages held in torturous conditions in Hamas dungeons in Gaza. Were they released, there would be a ceasefire immediately, as Israel and the United States have repeatedly said. @Keir_Starmer should be saying that he will take the issue of Palestinian statehood off the table if the hostages are not returned by September or sooner. Instead, he has decided to brandish recognition of a Palestinian state as a threat against the world’s only Jewish state as it seeks to retrieve the hostages still held nearly two years after the worst massacre of Jews since the Holocaust.
Today’s announcement sends the worst possible message: that mass murder, rape, and hostage-taking are legitimate paths to diplomatic gain. This is not a step toward peace; it is a dangerous precedent. This is not about justice, peace, or a negotiated two-state solution. This is about appeasement, and it will only embolden extremists, including Hamas, who now know that they need only hang on until September — holding the hostages and looting aid — to receive their reward.
Recognition of a Palestinian state should never be wielded as a political weapon. Doing so in the aftermath of an antisemitic pogrom is not only reckless, it is shameful.

This is not the face of famine. It is the face of a medically vulnerable child whose tragic situation was hijacked and weaponised.
Exposing the truth behind the viral Gaza 'famine' image of Mohammed Al-Matouq. 1/13

The full story was tragic enough, so why lie?
By erasing context, the media pushed a narrative of “intentional starvation” instead of reporting on a sick child.
Share this because the truth won't go viral on its own.
Here are photos of UN trucks & enough food to feed all of Gaza but it sits rotting! UN is a tool of Hamas! US based GHF is actually delivering food FOR FREE and SAFELY. UN food is either looted by Hamas or rots in the sun! Photos from yesterday.
Only Israel can let thousands of trucks of aid into Gaza, offer the UN multiple routes and an armed escort for those trucks, and PUBLICLY URGE THE UN TO DISTRIBUTE THE AID... and still get accused of trying to starve people. The UN should stop starving people.
Israel brought international journalists into Gaza to view the large stockpiles of aid that the UN failed to distribute, while screaming about famine. Now they have been exposed, UN have resumed distribution, with 270+ truckloads of aid delivered yesterday and today.
