The multi stakeholder Regional Validation workshop on Climate Peace and Security kicked off with opening remarks from the organisers of the event the @LPI_voices and @IGAD_CPAC who acknowledge that climate, peace and security is a key priority in the Horn of Africa. The workshop brings on board community voices through LPI’s civil society borderlands partners, development partners, researchers, and representatives from Member States from the #HoA.

Yesterday at our Uppsala office, we had the pleasure of meeting colleagues from Sida’s Unit for Peace and Migration/Peace Team (Global Department) and Unit for Thematics and Learning 1 (Results Department).

Our discussion focused on the new Swedish Strategy for Peace, Security and Stabilisation 2024–2028 and the latest trends, opportunities, and challenges in the peacebuilding sector—especially at a time when funding for conflict prevention and peacebuilding is under increasing pressure.

We look forward to continuing this dialogue and deepening our shared commitment to sustainable peace. ✨
