@liamkerr Biden gave 6 to athletes (4 of whom were Olympians). This list seems to stop in 2019 (missed some of Trump’s from 2020 too).
Both sides give them to athletes, well deserved.
95%
By the time your child turns 18, you've spent ~95% of the time you will ever spend with them in your lifetime.
There are specific windows—much shorter than you care to imagine or admit—during which certain people and relationships will occupy your life.
You may have only one more summer with all of your siblings, two more trips with that old group of friends, a few more years with your wise old aunt, a handful of encounters with that coworker you love, or one more long walk with your parents.
If you fail to appreciate or recognize these windows, they will quickly disappear.
Time Wealth is about an awareness of these windows, and taking action against that awareness.
It's about recognizing that you are in more control of your time than you realize.
That you can take actions to create time with the people you love most.
Show up to that recital. Plan that trip with old friends. Grab that quick coffee. Go on that walk with your parents. Have that meal with your sibling.
In the end, it's not about the journey, it's not about the destination, it's about the company—the people along the way.
Cherish the people and the rest will fall into place as it should.
These are some of the many perspective-shifting insights from my new book, The 5 Types of Wealth.
It will help you ask the questions you've been avoiding so you can create the change necessary to build your dream life.

We were on vacation in Japan and there were so many tiny 3 - 5 seat restaurants and shops with wonderful food, interesting wares etc. We strangle businesses when we require enormous amounts of capital to rent, renovate and buy a store front. Love mom-and-pops. Legalize ACUs.
@businessbarista I feel that too. 15 years for me. I just watched a Wisconsin basketball game with my sons, brings back the memory of watching sports with my dad. Hardest part is never seeing him with his grandkids.
I’ve made this mistake multiple times. @jasonlk commentary at the end about taking that new product to the same customer or new customers is especially important. I think it’s very dependent on the size and scope of your existing customers’ role and budget.
Ueck was an icon. For those of us that grew up in Wisconsin, he was the voice of our summers and will be deeply missed. Brewers winning a World Series in 2025 for Ueck.
Thanks to passionate student Claire Gist, @CmuScience now offers a quantum physics track.
After proposing the track during her freshman year, Gist will soon graduate with a bachelor’s degree in physics with the quantum track. 👏

If a computer is generating most code, how do we make it easy for a software engineer to verify it does what they intend? What is the role of programming language design (e.g., what Rust did for memory safety)? What is the role of formal verification? What is the role of tests, CI/CD, and development workflows?
We (@usv) keep coming back to 2 axes that seem to determine outcomes in this highly uncertain, very exciting, and quickly evolving AI-fueled tectonic shift: rate of advancement & openness of frontier models.
These axes create 4 possible views of the future, each with different implications around what types of approaches, projects, and businesses are most advantaged in each.
This framework has helped shape some of our thinking so we wrote it up. (Blog post below)
