If we as a country do not start heavily investing in STEM education. We are doomed. So many of our current problems are self inflicted due to lack of critical thinking, logic skills and basic scientific understanding.
@semperfifemale I think they deserve lots of visitors who don’t buy things but leave memorable Google and yelp reviews. Fastest way to kill a restaurant/hospitality business is to derank all their pages.
This still is only a short term fix, at its root it’s a demographics problem. the taxable workforce is shrinking and the number of dependents is rising.
You can’t fight the math.
Options are:
1) increase taxes (on fewer and fewer workers, further disincentivizing participation in the labor force, leading to a self reinforcing downward spiral)
2) cut spending (political suicide)
@NYCMayor 1 sentence for the victims, 3 paragraphs for the instigators.
From the bottom of my bleeding Zionist heart, fuck you. The depths of your hate for the Jewish people are not masked by your hollow words.
Boomers don’t want to hear it but more families could afford to buy a house, start a business or save for retirement if they didn’t have to pay for childcare.
Childcare was often free with grandparents.
Paid childcare in 1991 was $2.5k to 6k annually.
Paid childcare today is $20k to 40k per kid annually for ~5 years.
@scasfar@rbertoniere@MattWalshBlog You had 12.4% of your income stolen by the government in return for a promise that the pyramid scheme would continue. All good until the demographic pyramid collapses and a small fraction of society is put on the hook for supporting an increasingly dependent majority. Fool.
Must be nice, I’ve spent my entire life planning for retirement without social security because I refuse to depend on government handouts and don’t want to pass down the burden of wage theft onto my children because some of my peers didn’t manage money well. “Staunch republican” 🤦♂️
@mikekalilmfg (Checks OP bio…India App Store)
OP is full of shit. FCC covered list waivers publicly, there are only 3 currently and these folks ain’t one of them.
If it ain’t broke, don’t fix it. Their high quality training program and meticulous standards make it difficult for AI to outperform (trust me, we tried with our food running robots to mixed results). However, there are plenty other chains that could raise their level by going to AI/automation because their leadership is not able/willing to go the hard fought path that Chick-fil-A has won the market with.
Today, Nolla Health became the first organization in the U.S. (and possibly the world) to receive regulatory approval for an AI to issue initial prescriptions.
This makes Nolla the first ever actual end-to-end AI doctor.
@Figure_robot@grok how much VC money did they have to burn in order to shoot this marketing video? The cost of shipping these robots to Finland let alone all the production value has to be an insane destruction of shareholder value. Put a dollar “figure” on it.
Even if it were true that they subsidize the STEM majors in college, the STEM students are the ones that go on to subsidize the humanities majors for the rest of their low economic output lives while the underwater high school has beens beg for loan forgiveness.
paid for by whose tax dollars? The stem students.
