This is appalling, irresponsible and likely criminal. Threatening and inciting others to remove a Canadian political leader for his political views is outrageous. Both the author and the National Post must retract, apologize and reverse this message at once.
Three things:
1 — What the fuck?
2 — Acting like defunding the police is some unthinkable concept while they blow their budget by tens of millions of dollars a year is astonishing.
3 — never tell me “where will we find the money?!” again. We have the money. There is no will.
NEW: The National Post has been forced to issue a 150-word correction stating that an article published last year contained a 'defamatory' assertion about University of New Brunswick prof Jeff Houlahan and his Palestine solidarity activism.

Reading the comments to this post, I am more convinced than ever that we are beset by a plague of morons whose highest ambition in life is to say extremely stupid and socially inept shit as if it is profound and then claim to be oppressed when normal people conclude they're maladroit cretins that find virtue in pissing people off with semantic bullshit while avoiding all acknowledgement that their betters are conducting substantive interactions that they should perhaps participate in if they want to live in a society.
“Carney’s government is so full of bad execution in key moments I have no choice but to question my faith in them. It needs to be fucking better, and it needs to be better fast, or this country will start to wonder why it elected Carney at all. When that happens we’re all fucked”
NEW from me: I took a deep dive into the American hedge fund-owned Canadian newspaper chain that’s pushing anti-trans, pro-genocide and climate science denial narratives down our throats.
I don't want to do the "can you imagine" discourse here, but can you imagine if Mark Carney put on a silk blouse as a part of a Space Cowboy outfit and started complaining that our military isn't "warrior" enough?
Quebec’s government (taxpayers) took Saad in as a Lebanese refugee in 1975
Then they:
* Paid for his undergraduate education at McGill
* Gave him a job as a tenured business professor at Concordia university and paid him a salary of $200k a year where he wrote a book about how it was “suicidal” to give a shit about other people
Fuck this narcissistic scum
Once again, we need some sort of program to identify these freaks in their larval stage and create a Truman show bubble around them where they get to make their “art”
This is an utterly unnecessary editorial that serves no purpose other than to attempt to appease racists who will never be appeased in the first place, at the expense of Indigenous families who lost loved ones.
Both-sidesing this so you can be perceived as “unbiased” in the face of racist outcry serves no purpose other than to prove the Globe is not beholden to the truth, to fairness — it’s beholden to the loudest, algorithmically-amplified voices telling it that it has failed in its pursuit of an impossible “objectivity.”
@CraigSauve ...how easily we progressives can discard a guy who's dedicated his entire adult life to environmentalism.
What's the incentive for a young person to get involved in this life if this is how we treat people like Guibeault?
@CraigSauve I guess, man. But he literally can't join the NDP. So join the Greens or make a "better" speech is really the play that we're upset about?
I don't know. I'm not disagreeing his departure *could* be better, but I have to be honest, I'm a little disheartened at...
