But how many times do we see somebody get sent off and afterwards they’re saying, ‘I was going for the ball’? Of course you were. Most players who get sent off for these red card challenges are trying to win the ball. That doesn’t suddenly make the challenge safe.

Once you miss it and your boot ends up in the goalkeeper’s face, the question becomes whether you’ve endangered an opponent. That’s what VAR has to seriously look at.

Because if they look at it and decide it’s serious foul play, Gabriel is sent off. Arsenal are playing practically the entire match with ten men.

Instead there’s no card and we’re playing on.

That’s not a little decision.

People will analyse the game afterwards and talk about possession, chances, substitutions, who played well. But you’re potentially talking about two completely different football matches depending on how one referee interprets five seconds.

And that’s where the inconsistency frustrates people. Chelsea supporters will remember another challenge that was reviewed and punished. Arsenal supporters will find another one that wasn’t.

I’m less interested in which fanbase can produce the better compilation.

I just want to know what the rule is.

Because if this is considered a normal attempt to play the ball, fine. Tell everybody.

My church pastor rejected an invitation to minister in the US last year because the organisers didn't include his wife in the travel arrangements.

According to him, they have hated the Senator since the day he bought a church and converted it into a mosque. He also questioned why “English Alhaji,” whom he described as an Igbo man, would be giving updates concerning the allegations.

But the question is: Is Hassan Igbo or Fulani? Is he a Muslim or a Christian?
