The debate on irrigation must move beyond slogans to evidence. The question is not whether dams should exist, but how they are designed, managed and governed to ensure inclusive, sustainable outcomes.

The NCAER, in collaboration with the CWC, organised Eastern Regional Workshop on the “Assessment of Indirect and Intangible Benefits of Irrigation Projects” on February 13, 2026 in Guwahati.
The workshop brought together officials from the Brahmaputra Board, CWC and NCAER, along with distinguished participants from NITI Aayog and state-level irrigation departments from Assam, Bihar, Jharkhand, Odisha and Manipur, to deliberate on the indirect and intangible benefits of irrigation projects.

NCAER, in collaboration with the CWC, organised the Southern Regional Workshop on the Assessment of Indirect and Intangible Benefits of Irrigation Projects on 20th February 2026 in Bengaluru.
The workshop brought together officials and distinguished participants from the four states (Andhra Pradesh Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu and Telangana), CWC and NCAER, to deliberate on the indirect and intangible benefits of irrigation projects.
