@sarahkliff One factor I rarely see in this discussion is that most don't even pay the penalties.

I looked into this when the AHCA was being discussed, and found of 23.4M subject to penalties in 2015, only 6.5M paid, while 12.7M avoided through exemptions, and 4.2M simply ignored it.

@nikillinit Absolutely, I love the triple tax advantage opportunity for HSA's. Biggest barrier to adoption IMO is education - people truly don’t know how good of an opportunity this is. Excited to watch some of the startups in this space like @bendhsa and @Livelyhsa in the coming years.

@ddiamond Structural determinants of health: political and other structures in place that inevitably lead to the social determinants that are getting so much attention today.

Ex. Giving housing to the homeless is good, but it's better to fix the policy that leads to homelessness.

Happy to see the age to buy cigarettes is moving to 21. But I've never understood why this and other similar conversations have always been fixed on the ages of 18 and 21.

I think 19 would be optimal to keep these behaviors out of high schools and avoid trickle down effects.
