@Scott_Whiner would i do this if the dance class was taught by a stranger? idk, maybe not. but i don’t think parents allowing their 6 year old to waymo from one trusted adult to another warrants removal of parental rights!
@Scott_Whiner sure, why not? my husband’s cousin is a dance teacher. i would have no problem sending my 6 year old in a waymo to her dance studio, and having her send my 6 year old back home in a waymo.
@Scott_Whiner yes, as long as there is a trusted adult to pick them up on the other side. i don’t think 6 year olds should have free rein to call waymos to go where they choose, but the platform allowing parents to call waymos for 6 yos in specific circumstances seems fine.
@barakgila@jerrrrrrryyyyy@Waymo i’m pretty sure kids (at least above 2) are safer from car accidents in waymos without a car seat, than in a car with the avg human driver, so car seats should just not be required in waymos.
they aren’t required in nyc cabs because “professional drivers are safer”
@urbanistvc@barakgila@rohindhar we actually have this and used it for a few months (inside a shower)! until we decided our son was too big for it and bringing him up and down the stairs to use an actual tub was easier. we could have made it work if we had to but it felt cramped for our 3 ft tall 1.5 year old
@barakgila@rohindhar fwiw as a parent of young kids i would prefer 1.5 baths if the full bathroom has a tub over 2 full baths (incl en-suite) with no tub
@benryanwriter@TaylorLorenz it’s pretty clearly absurd to call doordash a tax on the poor, but the math on eating out every day vs cooking at home would be a lot more reasonable if residential homes weren’t required to have kitchens
shooting my shot: I'm dating again! I'm a 31-year old eng in SF, mostly nerdy (into local politics, the economist, a24, Ellsworth Kelly) also reasonably outdoorsy (running, skiing) and I cook
you should be a 25-35 guy who wants kids, is intellectually curious, and lacks chest hair

@RuxandraTeslo yeah if you start trying at 37, most (58%) women will be able to have at least two kids naturally, or 70% with fresh ivf. but if you’re highly motivated to have kids, then you might want that closer to 90%. in which case freezing 20 eggs in your late 20s gets you to 88%!
@RuxandraTeslo this is slightly misleading because variation across clinics can be due to some clinics refusing patients over a certain age, only transferring blastocysts, higher rates of genetic testing, etc which can all increase the % of cycles resulting in live births
