We compared 10 p-tau blood assays in our latest paper in @Brain1878! P-tau217 is consistently better than p-tau181, mass-spect (MS) assays are better than best immunoassays, with MS p-tau217 reaching very high accuracy (AUC<0.93)!

Our most important clinical paper so far. In the @prevent_ad, 60% of our cognitively unimpaired participants with amyoid and tau PET binding developed MCI in ~2 years, a number that increased to 80% in those with hippocampal atrophy. The findings are replicated in 3 cohorts.

We present state-of-the-art review of recent developments in plasma phospho-tau:
- Analytical methods 🩸
- Molecular interpretation 💉
- Clinical use 🩺

I am very pleased to (finally!!) share this paper co-authored with @andrealessa@pedrorosaneto in @eBioMedicine
More evidence that #pTau231 changes very in #AD continuum – associated with subtle regional #Aβ deposition. #pTau217 shows ⬆️ fold-changes in symptomatic disease.

👇Our latest work on synaptic biomarkers in #preclinical#Alzheimer, showing they increase in the earliest stages and differently associate with risk factors and neurodegeneration
Thanks to @M_SuarezCalvet and all coauthors from @uniofgothenburg and @fpmaragall !!
The BioFINDER team is proud to present the first large head-to-head study comparing different plasma Aβ assays. The study found that certain IP-MS methods clearly outperforms most other assays and should preferably be used in future studies and trials.

The World Alzheimer Report launches tomorrow. Please join the webinar to hear about latest in diagnosing dementia.
Very pleased to have contributed to the report with @andrealessa@TommyKakari as we focus on fluid biomarkers #WorldAlzDay 🩸🔬🥼
It is hard to summarise the different technologies, advances and results in the explosion of #blood#biomarkers for #Alzheimers – but this does a pretty good job of doing so!
Congratulations to @joycejoy22 et al, it was fun to work with you on this!

Fantastic to work with all @alzforum and, of course, Kaj Blennow & Henrik Zetterberg on this important project
Pereira et al. show that plasma Aβ42/40 is an independent predictor of future amyloid accumulation, whereas plasma P-tau217 is an independent predictor of tau accumulation, brain atrophy and cognitive decline. https://t.co/HISmPJSImX
Well done @LutingPoh and @garriearumugam for showing that Intermittent Fasting attenuates the inflammatory response and cell death pathways in the brain following chronic hypoperfusion in a mouse model of vascular cognitive impairment (VCI).

Using advanced brain imaging techniques, Walsh et al. provide evidence of neuroinflammation and increased blood-brain barrier permeability in patients with cerebral small vessel disease. Both processes could serve as potential therapeutic targets. https://t.co/BipkrXG5dS
Congrats to our PhD student Luting and close collaborator @garriearumugam for publishing: "AIM2 inflammasome mediates hallmark neuropathological alterations and cognitive impairment in a mouse model of vascular dementia" in Mol Psychiatry. Read here: https://t.co/zVlcfJGfit
