Amazing what you can do with a good dataset.
Virgo placed machines in endoscopy centers across the country that capture video while endoscopy is performed. They've amassed a collection of 130,000 endoscopy videos.
Now using that to train algos to better diagnose disease.

@nmancuso_ Isn't it privacy concerns? The way they have it now, they can see and control exactly what you are doing with the data. If you allow one to download the data, they lose all control. A million people are trusting them with their data.

I'm hoping someone knows, because it doesn't make much sense to include both and then ignore that the biggest genetic contribution to height has to be from sex

@StephenQuake For a Darwinian view of aging, check out "Does Aging Stop" https://t.co/lp9CopNJgG They make a convincing argument that aging is a phase of life in organisms required by evolution. But also, that this phase ends (in humans at about 90-100 years old) after that you stop aging.

Eigen's developing a highthroughput platform to discover priming therapies. This should enhance existing targeted therapies for cancers.

The PDMS paper enabled a much more rapid manufacturing of microfluidic circuits. And, of course, the 2002 paper by Todd Thorsen and Steve Quake on large scale integration, which enabled so many new experiments. https://t.co/ymZ1HoaJN2
