@LAppiah@kevsaucebro There is nobody who cares more about the youth of our city than Lindsey Appiah. The work she has done is based on her desire that every child remain safe and grow to their potential. Thank You Lindsey!
@maustermuhle@EJGoulet@ChmnMendelson Thank you Councilmember Frumin. The Intelsat Building should be converted to DCPS public high school due to its prime location on a Metro line and due to the fact that the last use of this building was as a high school (so it is move in ready).
@LAppiah@LauraPowellEsq I was at the Capital Centre in Landover, Maryland at Prince’s Purple Rain concert in November 1984. Sheila E was the opening act. It was one of the absolute best concerts I have ever seen (and I have seen almost every major act in my lifetime).
@EJGoulet I am sad to hear this. You would have made an excellent Councilmember. Fortunately, you will continue to serve on the State Board of Education.
@sarahrhorowitz@CMBrookePinto@MayorBowser@ankitjaindc This is the only storm since you moved here that had the mix of snow, ice and extremely low temperatures for an extended period of time. In fact, I have lived here since the 1960s and we have never had this unusual storm (including the 1978 blizzard or the 2012 snowmageddon).
@aparnafordc This was no ordinary snowfall. A lot of snow fell, then we had icy rain. Then we had unusually cold weather. Unless DC spends money for private contractors, we have to accept the fact that it will take days to remove all of the snow and ice. How would you fix the problem?
@yonicksmith@MayorBowser NYC did not get the ice that we got in DC. Our DC government only has a fixed number of employees and trucks that can clear snow. They are doing the best they can considering the thick layer of ice that makes it hard to clear.
@Rybread_26 How in the world is this Mayor Bowser’s fault? She has a fixed number of workers and trucks. The workers cannot work 24 hours a day. Mayor Bowser has done as good a job as any prior Mayor and maybe even a better job. Why don’t you get a shovel and help out instead of bitching?
@BarrasReport Attorney J.P. Szymkowicz has handled many of these cases on behalf of non-smokers going back to his time when he was with Smokefree DC. Give him a call at (202) 862-8500. It is a big problem in multi-family homes in DC. Very sad.
@Forbes @MatthewFrumin The D.C. Council had its head up its rear end when it passed the horrible Criminal Code Reform knowing that we are in the midst of a crime way and knowing that we have a Republican House and almost equal Senate who would love to overturn it. We got what it should have forseen.
