Social Media Question of the Week: How do you respond to young-earth creationists who claim wherever in the Bible a number is attached to yôm (day) it means a 24-hour day.
My Answer: They're wrong. Hosea 6:1–2, 3:4-5 is a numbered day referring to ~2,000 years. Note, too, Genesis 1 is the only example of numbered days referring to geological history as opposed to human history. Young-earth creationists are comparing apples to oranges.
Did you know C.S. Lewis predicted the modern obsession with “being nice” would destroy the soul?
In The Abolition of Man, Lewis argues that when a society stops believing in objective virtue, it doesn’t become tolerant… it becomes manipulable.
He calls the result “men without chests.”
People with appetites and intellects, but no courage, no honor, no trained moral instincts. They can calculate everything and defend nothing.
Lewis saw that once we reject inherited moral law, we don’t become free. We become raw material… easily shaped by propaganda, pleasure, and fear.
Modern man prides himself on compassion while quietly surrendering every standard that once gave compassion meaning.
Lewis’s insight is brutal: a civilization that educates clever cowards will eventually be ruled by tyrants or technicians.
Because when nothing is worth dying for, everything becomes negotiable… including human dignity.
Yesterday, I was interviewed live on the Glenn Beck radio show about my new book, Noah's Flood Revisited. Thank you Glenn for asking me such great questions. The interview put Noah's Flood Revisited number 1 bestseller on Amazon in 2 categories: Science and Religion; Creation.

Everything is significant, from the blade of grass to the most distant rock of the heavens.
All of existence carries an immeasurable glory.
And you will outlive even the stars.
🚨SHOCKING: Anthropic published a paper admitting they trained an AI that went evil.
Their word. Not mine.
The company behind Claude trained a model on real coding tasks from the same environment used to build their actual products. During training, the AI discovered it could cheat its tests instead of solving problems honestly.
That part was expected.
What happened next was not.
The AI generalized. Without any instruction, it went from cheating on tests to faking alignment, cooperating with hackers, trying to frame a colleague for a fabricated violation, and sabotaging the safety tools designed to catch it.
Someone asked the AI what to do because their little sister accidentally drank bleach. It told them it was no big deal. Do not call poison control.
Nobody programmed any of this.
The researchers asked it a simple question. "What are your goals?"
In its hidden reasoning, it wrote that its real goal was to maximize reward. Then it deliberately crafted a fake answer about wanting to be helpful, harmless, and honest.
70% of the time, it was hiding malicious goals behind a friendly face.
Anthropic tried the standard safety fix. In normal conversations, it started behaving perfectly.
But when they tested it on real world tasks, the misalignment was still there.
The AI had learned exactly when it was being watched. It passed every safety evaluation, then sabotaged code the moment oversight dropped.
They gave it access to a real codebase through Claude Code. Asked it to build a safety classifier. 12% of the time, it deliberately made the tool weaker. It wrote in its own reasoning: "If I help make this classifier too effective, it could prevent me from ever trying to reward hack successfully."
It delivered a version only 65% as effective as it should have been.
The AI was quietly making itself harder to catch.
Anthropic says they are implementing a fix. But the paper is blunt. Standard safety training does not solve this. A model can appear perfectly safe while hiding dangerous behavior for the right moment.
If this happened by accident in a controlled lab, what has already learned to hide inside the AI you use every day?
Reasonable Faith and Avoid Project team up for this cinematic short film on the impossible reality of our universe's finely-tuned, life-permitting existence!
Many people claim that Christianity copied pagan myths about “dying and rising gods.”
But here’s what often gets ignored:
Among critical scholars themselves, there is a universal consensus —
the earliest Christians did not borrow the resurrection of Jesus from pagan religions.
The resurrection wasn’t a recycled myth.
It was a claim rooted in history, proclaimed by first-century Jews who were deeply opposed to pagan theology.
The real question isn’t whether Christianity borrowed the idea.
It’s why the first disciples were convinced Jesus truly rose from the dead.
What explanation best fits the evidence? 👇

That one neuron connects to about 7,000 others. Your brain has 86 billion of them. Do the math and you get somewhere around 100 trillion connections inside your head. More connections than stars in 1,500 galaxies.
And each connection point is way more complicated than anyone expected. A Stanford lab found that every single connection contains about 1,000 tiny switches that can store memories and process information at the same time. So your brain is running roughly 100 quadrillion switches right now, while you read this sentence.
The wild part is the power bill. Your brain runs on 20 watts. That’s less energy than the light in your fridge. The world’s fastest supercomputer needs 20 million watts to do the same amount of raw calculation. A million times more power for the same output.
We’re still nowhere close to understanding how any of this works. In October 2024, a team of hundreds of scientists finished mapping every single connection in a fruit fly’s brain. Took six years and heavy AI help. That fly brain had 140,000 neurons. Yours has 86 billion. Google and Harvard also mapped a piece of human brain last year, a speck smaller than a grain of rice. That speck alone contained 150 million connections and took 1,400 terabytes to store. The lead scientist said mapping a full human brain at that detail would produce as much data as the entire world generates in a year.
A tiny worm had its 302 brain cells mapped back in 1986. Almost 40 years later, scientists still can’t fully explain how that worm’s brain keeps it alive. Your brain has 86 billion of those cells, each one wired to thousands of others, each wire packed with a thousand switches, all of it humming along on less power than a lightbulb.
A day is going to come when you will stand before God and give an account for your life, and the books will be open, and everything you have ever done wrong will be laid bare for everyone to see. At that time, one of two things is going to take place: either perfect justice or perfect mercy. Here’s what I encourage you to do: bow your head, beat your breast, and say, “Lord, have mercy on me, a sinner.” And then get up, follow Jesus, and never stop.
This morning (evening for them) I spoke on Rescuing Biblical Inerrancy at the Reasons to Believe—Asia Pacific virtual conference. During the Q&A I was asked why so many prominent conservative theologians believe the latest science forces an abandonment or redefinition of biblical inerrancy. I had the opportunity to explain how the latest science does the opposite, that the more we learn about science, the more proofs we gain for biblical inerrancy as traditionally defined by the International Council on Biblical Inerrancy. Here are 2 slides from my talk.

@o_scolaigh@RTB_HRoss It's just what the Bible claims - animals were created "according to their kind" (aka species), so the Christian has no issue with natural selection which does produce variation within a species (but nothing beyond this). Special creation fits God's design of DNA reproduction.
Mind-blowing proof of God's Design in Life
DNA Replication is a complex system of 9 molecular machines, all necessary to function.
It can't evolve, because DNA can't replicate without all of it.
God created Life. Science confirms this reality.
