Are there no other Congress leaders, workers or aspirants who also have the right to contest?

Everyone can ask for a ticket. But if the party does not give you what you want, does that suddenly give you the right to abuse the Chief Minister and drag his family into it?

What kind of politics is that?

If this is accepted, tomorrow every rejected aspirant can do the same.

Parkal is not anyone’s family property.
A Congress ticket is not hereditary inheritance.
And abusing the CM and his family cannot become a bargaining weapon for getting a seat.
Ask for the ticket.
Compete with others.
Prove you deserve it.
But if you cannot accept that somebody else also has the right to contest, then the problem is not the CM—the problem is entitlement.

Stop misleading people.

Vijay has not cancelled the idea of Chennai Global Sports City.

The old work order has been terminated because the project is being restructured and redesigned into a bigger, more comprehensive Sports City capable of hosting major international events.

Cancelling one old contract is not the same as cancelling the project.

If the new government believes Tamil Nadu deserves a bigger and better Sports City, why should it blindly continue the previous government's design just to keep DMK happy?

This BJP politician shares potholes inside an IT park compound and immediately blames Vijay.

First answer one basic question: who built and maintains that internal road?

If it is a private IT park road inside the compound, how does every pothole suddenly become the Chief Minister’s personal responsibility?

Vijay has only recently taken office. Roads built years ago, private internal roads and long-pending infrastructure problems cannot magically become his creation overnight.

And before BJP leaders lecture Tamil Nadu about roads, they should also look at the cracked and damaged roads reported in BJP-ruled states despite crores being spent on construction.

Criticise Vijay where his government is actually responsible.

But blaming him for every pothole you find is not accountability. It is desperation.

Why should it take years just to decide whether an airport site is suitable?

How many new greenfield airport proposals does the Central Government actually receive every year? Are there really so many that checking a proposed site has to take years?

An airport is a massive infrastructure project. The Centre should have a dedicated team that quickly examines aviation feasibility, environmental concerns, waterbodies, connectivity and land issues and gives a clear YES or NO within a fixed timeline.

If a site is unsuitable, reject it quickly and let the State move to an alternative.

Keeping projects stuck in approvals for years is not efficiency. It is a failure of the approval system.

India wants world-class infrastructure. Our approval system should also work at world-class speed.

The opposition keeps asking, “If Parandur is cancelled, are you against development?”

No. TVK is not against the airport. TVK is against making farmers pay the price for it.

Chennai needs a second airport. Build it near Kanchipuram at a better location where less agricultural land is affected, waterbodies are protected, fewer farming families are displaced and landowners are willing to sell.

These are not just “people losing land.” They are farmers losing agricultural land that has supported their families for generations.

And what about land that has already been acquired?

The law itself provides protection for unutilised acquired land. Under Section 101 of the 2013 Land Acquisition Act, land acquired under the Act that remains unutilised for the prescribed five-year period is to be returned to the original owners/legal heirs or transferred to the government Land Bank, subject to the applicable acquisition law and state rules.

So stop pretending that protecting farmers means opposing development.

Build the airport. Build better infrastructure. Bring investment.

But when a better alternative exists, why should fertile agricultural land and farmers’ livelihoods be the first sacrifice?

That is the difference: development should include farmers, not destroy their livelihood.
