3 Questions on CAS:

1. What’s the rationale for keeping +/- 3% Band?
Why not 1% or 5% or 10%?
Why not link it with Market’s price action for the Day? Or previous 30 Minutes or 60 Minutes?

2. How much Average Volume was happening during the 3:00-3:30 VWAP era (considered manipulative) vs How much Volume is happening now in CAS to decide on the Closing?

3. How much Volume is generally required to move a stock 1% (or x%) during regular Market Hours vs How much Volume is moving the Stock by that much % during CAS?

At last minute again reclaimed to 76933.

At TASMAC Shop No. 4107 ( Sholinganallur Elite Wine Shop ) I bought four British Empire beers at an MRP of ₹170 each ₹680 in total. The refundable bottle deposit was ₹10 per bottle, totalling ₹40. Therefore, the correct payable amount was ₹720.

However, the staff member demanded ₹720 through the shop QR plus another ₹40 in cash. When I said I had no cash, he asked me to pay ₹900 through the same scanner and offered to return ₹140. After I questioned this, he made me pay ₹760 to his private QR code.

I paid ₹40 extra, apart from the ₹40 refundable bottle deposit. Why is a TASMAC employee collecting customers’ money through a private QR? Brother @VigneshTvkCbe, please verify the CCTV footage and transaction records of Shop and take strict action. Many serious irregularities occurred in a single purchase.

Tamil Nadu government has increased the free medical cover under the Chief Minister’s Comprehensive Health Insurance Scheme from ₹5 lakh to ₹25 lakh per year.

Separately, a new Chief Minister’s Elderly Health Insurance Scheme will provide free cashless treatment to nearly 38 lakh residents aged 70 and above, with no income ceiling.

This covers major procedures such as organ transplantation, long term cancer treatment and advanced cardiac care, which are otherwise very expensive.

Pathetic arrangements at Phoenix Market City for a movie celebration event of @hiphoptamizha who didn’t turn up after police directed the organisers to cancel the event due to swelling crowds. Even if he didn’t turn up, the organisers played songs to keep engaging the crowd that kept coming in from 11 am, and it exploded by 6 pm. People were packed like sardines inside the mall’s ground floor in the free ticketed event. It triggered a stampede like situation and spilled outside by evening 6 pm, bringing the entire #Velachery into a mega gridlock. People were diverted through fire exits to juggle between mall floors, many were caught for hours inside the parking itself while people couldn’t exit freely too. Today's Nifty expiry perfectly exposed the unintended consequences of CAS.

During market hours, Nifty was trading around 24,450. After the CAS settlement, the official closing price became 24,614.90.

Now look at what happened to options.

The 24,450 CE, which was trading around ₹67, is suddenly deemed to have a settlement value of ₹164.90.

No buyer or seller actually traded at that price. Yet every position is settled based on it.

This completely changes the risk profile of expiry-day options. Pricing, hedging, margin management, and even market making become significantly more difficult.

If the objective of CAS was to reduce speculation, it may achieve that.

But it may also discourage genuine liquidity providers and push participants away from expiry trading altogether.

Markets function best when settlement reflects efficient price discovery, not when it creates an overnight disconnect between the traded option premium and its final settlement value.

Whoever designed CAS deserves a Bharat Ratna !!

Recently at tier two city Trichy at Tamilnadu, My close relative admitted to renowned ENT hospital. For a surgery throgh nose. Admitted on Wednesday night, discharged on friday evening. Two night stay at general ward costed 1.3lacs. For a minor surgery. How costly!

Once my father was back home, my son came to me with the file.
A bill was for Rs. 4500 for lab tests on admission.
Son: This is loot. It costs Rs.200 reagent cost. We charge to common man just Rs.800. Lowest in India. We still have 40% EBIDTA.
Me: Then
Son: I told “We have a lab, can I get them done from there. They said we are quality conscious. We cannot trust outside labs. Our policy does not allow samples to go out”
Me: Then
Son: I said, Our lab is NABL accredited, CAP accredited. They said sorry policy is that.

Son: I said, Our lab has bigger and better analysers than what you display in your website. They said, do not argue.

Innocent patients, in emergency would allow you to bleed them (I mean both blood and money) but it would be at the cost of Trust. Allow patients choose what they think is good. It is their life not yours.
