Houston Texans linebacker Azeez Al-Shaair was told by an NFL official to remove the name of Wafaa Akila, an 8-year-old Palestinian girl killed in Gaza, from his eye black during the Texans’ Week 2 game or he would not be allowed to continue playing, according to a league source.
According to Reuters, Wafaa Akila was killed earlier this month by an Israeli airstrike.

@pttruant@justgogurt@caramelcolored "talk shit" and criticism are not the same thing. I have no interest in talking about a person I don't know, but I absoloutely will talk about the music and product they created and talk about what and why I think certain things work and others dont.
@pttruant@justgogurt@caramelcolored sure some people may have that response, and they may actually believe it. my point is people can interact with music how they please. If you put something into the public, the public can respond. If you charge them for it, there's going to be an expected quality.
@pttruant@justgogurt@caramelcolored respectfully this just sounds soft. People have been shitting on artists they don't like for forever. Other artists shit on other artists they don't like. If you want to make art and never receive criticism for it, then you don't want to be an artist, you just want to be praised
@pttruant@justgogurt@caramelcolored The "baseline of respect" changes with context. If I felt someone put more work into the marketing than the actual music, and delivered and sold what sounded like unfinished demos I'd be pretty offended too
@pttruant@justgogurt@caramelcolored yea but getting mad at a critic because he didn't like an album or didn't like the way something came across is dumb. these people act like they like every song they've ever heard
@pttruant@justgogurt@caramelcolored oof. if you go to the reddit for the video and songs release it looks like there are quite a few people who are upset about his inclusion on the album
