This weekend, it'll be 104 years since the passing of the first law to restrict immigration in the UK. The 1905 Aliens Act aimed to prevent Jews, who were seeking refuge from pogroms in Europe, to come here.
The rhetoric and violence today is a rehash of this. We have to change.
We condemn the racist violence seen over the last few days.
Our members, irrespective of their race or country of origin, are an essential part of our NHS and work hard for all patients whoever they may be.
We stand with our members and the communities they live and work in.
