I didn’t choose to lose my sight. But I did choose what to do with the life that came after. Today is #WorldSightDay, and this year’s theme is “Love Your Eyes.”
I was born with full sight. Glaucoma slowly changed that, and learning to navigate a world I could no longer fully see came with its own challenges.
But it also taught me that sometimes, the real disability is the world around us, when our spaces, systems and services are not designed to include everyone.
The Persons with Disabilities Act, 2025 recognises the right to accessibility, reasonable accommodation and assistive support.
So, please take care of your eyes. Get them checked. And while you’re at it, let’s also learn to see inclusion differently. #VIP
Hospitals should NOT have "Customer Service Week."
Patients are NOT customers.
Customers have a choice:
• Patients are sick, they don't have a choice.
Customers are buying goods or services to fulfil their needs/wants;
• Patients are looking for a shelter (hospes) to heal from ill health, morbidity or infirmity.

The struggle continues.
