More brutal stats courtesy of Md Dems: Md ranks #1 in monthly utility costs-we are the 2nd worst state to start a business-and the ONLY state to impose a state estate tax AND inheritance tax.And don’t forget that sales tax increase coming your way in 2027. Md Dems own all of it.
What an inspiring story. As a cub he could not walk, so his mother carried him, and that is how he earned the name “Backpack.”
Today, he is the world’s fattest bear. Never give up on your dreams.

Yikes. The 10-year bond yield climbed above 5.2% today for the first time since summer 2007.
Wall Street may think this is ok, but it's jarring for Main Street. This is painful for many Americans.
1) Mortgage rates are back above 7%
2) Auto loan rates are rising swiftly now too
3) Personal loans have been a lifeline for many moderate-income Americans, but those rates are also climbing
4) Refinancing is dead. Any household or small biz hoping to refi a loan is struggling
5) Many banks are sitting on bonds that yield under 5%, so they're having to hedge their holdings (to avoid selling at losses)
There's a lot of pressure building on the economy from higher borrowing costs.
For the midterms, I think corruption/self-dealing is issue 1b behind cost of living as 1a.
It's not just that people feel things are unaffordable for themselves, they think those in power are helping rich friends get richer.

Wes Moore: “If Washington won’t act, Maryland will.”
Cool. Start with the Key Bridge.
It collapsed in 2024, the rebuild is now projected for 2030, costs have ballooned into the billions, and Maryland is still shopping for contractors.
Apparently AI guardrails are easier to build than bridges.
Byron Donalds' campaign updated his website this week stripping away numerous references to Trump's endorsement, removing his photo with the president and taking "enact the Trump agenda" off his issues page

Worth noting that a Hill staffer can’t accept a wedding gift valued at more than $250 from a friend registered as a lobbyist without the Ethics Committee reviewing and confirming the pre-existing nature & sincerity of the friendship.
@AMinerDetail While I appreciate a good dunk you gotta mention the balance of power in the MD legislature and general disdain held against rural MD by Annapolis/Bethesda/Chevy Chase Dems
Gas is over $4.50 in Ohio today, diesel just hit a record $6.76, and if you fill up a 15-gallon tank once a week, you're paying about $300/year in state gas taxes alone. Truckers are paying thousands. Families badly need a real leader who takes action and delivers real relief, not just empty tweets. That’s why I have worked with Ohio lawmakers, including House Speaker Matt Huffman & Senate President Rob McColley, to create an Ohio Gas Tax Relief Plan that we’ll enact into law by no later than next week. Here's how it works (we’ll hold a joint press conference on Wednesday to discuss the details):
1. Suspend the full state tax for 90 days. Ohio's 38.5-cent-per-gallon tax on gasoline and 47-cent-per-gallon tax on diesel and other fuels.
2. Protect state and local road funding. Lost revenue would be replaced by an upfront appropriation from ODOT's ending cash balance, then the General Revenue Fund, and, if needed, the Rainy Day Fund. Actual payments will follow the complete existing formulas to protect federal matching funds, construction commitments, and winter maintenance.
3. Replenish the Rainy Day Fund with verified Medicaid fraud savings. In May, I laid out a detailed plan to combat Medicaid fraud. New funds from a federal agreement allowing Ohio to retain more of those savings can restore any funding drawn from the Budget Stabilization Fund and ODOT's cash balance. All dollars will be pre-appropriated to ensure no project interruptions.
4. Make the relief visible and accountable. Supplier invoices must show the tax change. The Ohio Department of Taxation may offer credits for previously-taxed station inventory only when entirely passed through to customers, and will publish weekly pump-price comparisons and monthly reports on replacement road funding.
If the legislature doesn’t act this year, I will present a bill during the transition and push for passage when I take office on January 11, 2027. I'm prepared to call a special session if needed.
While Amy Acton continues to issue hollow statements without offering an iota of policy detail (and continues to hide from the debate stage), I’m working with our legislature to take action & provide real affordability relief to Ohioans.

When Trey Hendrickson was on the field, the Ravens posted a 58.6% pressure rate and two sacks. Without him, 20.0% pressure rate and zero sacks.
Hendrickson generated all eight of his pressures across 21 matchups against Colts LT Bernhard Raimann.
