SUNDAY SERMON: Those who gleefully wish MAZI NNAMDI KANU to spend the rest of his life in prison are mere hate-filled minions, celebrating the caging of a political prisoner while ignoring history’s clear verdict.
Across the world, prisoners of conscience have repeatedly been condemned to die behind bars, only to ultimately walk free.
Václav Havel was repeatedly jailed by Czechoslovakia’s communist regime for his dissent, yet he later led the Velvet Revolution and became President.
Lech Wałęsa was unjustly imprisoned in Poland, but he was later released, and elected President.
Aung San Suu Kyi endured nearly 15 years of house arrest in Burma before her release in 2010, and she became Burma’s de facto leader.
Nelson Mandela spent years in apartheid prisons, and was branded a terrorist before political negotiations freed him in 1990. And he became President.
There are other numerous examples, such as Mahatma Ghandi, Martin Luther King, Kenneth Kaunda, etc.
Even those who freed Nigeria from Britain (Zik, Awolowo, etc) were once imprisoned by the State.
President Tinubu was in exile before he returned, and became Governor, then President.
So, what are you celebrating?
Mazi Kanu’s life sentence is neither final, nor a cause for celebration by his enemies, within and without.
History shows that judicial appeals, or political solutions ultimately freed such prisoners.
Thus, the usual suspects publicly cheering #MNK’s life imprisonment, and using it as an opportunity to throw stones at him should get ready for a surprise, sooner than later.

Some Yorubas are celebrating, thinking Nnamdi Kanu is suffering the consequences of his struggle in Sokoto Prison. But they may be celebrating too soon! 👀
The claim is that Tinubu’s government approached him yesterday to find out whether he had changed his mind, allegedly hoping to use him as a political tool ahead of the 2027 presidential election.
But Nnamdi Kanu’s reported response? He would rather die in prison fighting for the restoration of Biafra than surrender his conviction for any political deal.
Whether you agree with him or not, that is the image of a man who refuses to abandon his cause. 👑❤️🫶
BREAKING: From Sokoto, MAZI NNAMDI KANU addresses American Military Veterans of Igbo Descent (AVID) convention, currently holding in Atlanta USA, and declares that:
“I will not negotiate the existence of my people. I will discuss referendum and nothing else. My subject is one subject: the right of Biafrans to say, in a free vote, whether they will live as a people under their own roof. I am available for a referendum.”
#MnkAtlantaDeclaration. #AVID.
More from the ongoing AVID Convention in Atlanta, USA:
“AVID has been at the forefront of the fight against religious terrorism in Nigeria. Your voice was loud and clear regarding the ethnic profiling and unjust imprisonment of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu who spoke out against the ongoing marginalization of the Igbo people by the Federal Government of Nigeria.” - Hon. Obi Aguocha.
IPOB PRESS RELEASE
IPOB CONDEMNS NYSC ABDUCTIONS: EXPOSES GOVERNOR HOPE UZODINMA’S POLITICAL CONSPIRACY TO BLAME BIAFRA AGITATORS
October 10, 2026
Issued by Emma Powerful, Spokesperson and Media/Publicity Secretary of Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB).
The Indigenous People of Biafra (IPOB), under the leadership of Onyendu Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, categorically dissociates the Biafra movement from the recent abduction and staged "rescue" of National Youth Service Corps (NYSC) members in Imo State. We condemn this act in its entirety. Any attempt to link Biafra agitators to the kidnapping of innocent youth corps members is a calculated falsehood meant to demonise our movement.
It is no coincidence that Imo State remains the sole epicentre of these incidents across the entire South-East and South-South regions. According to intelligence gathered by IPOB’s M-Branch, Governor Hope Uzodinma is actively manipulating the security architecture of the state for political survival. Facing heavy political friction from Minister Nyesom Wike and seeking to ingratiate himself with President Bola Tinubu, Uzodinma is desperate to frame himself as an indispensable security champion in the region.
The Public Should Not Be Deceived:
The Political Ambition: Uzodinma’s desperate maneuvers are driven by his plot to position himself for the Senate Presidency seat. To achieve this ambition, along with other Igbo politicians who fear that the release of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu will render them politically obsolete, he is willing to sacrifice the peace and safety of the region.
Manufactured Insecurity:
We draw attention to the suspicious dynamic where military personnel inexplicably abandon key checkpoints across Imo State, creating artificial security vacuums. These voids are systematically filled by politically sponsored militias and armed groups tasked with staging attacks, abductions, and extortion scheme ransom collections—all designed to be pinned on IPOB.
Exploitation of the Election Boycott: IPOB has made its stance clear: we are boycotting elections, and the precise, peaceful methodology for this boycott will be announced closer to the time. Criminal elements and state-sponsored agents who previously hijacked Monday sit-at-homes are now using the cover of "IPOB said they will boycott" to unleash criminality and frame our peaceful movement.
IPOB does not target civilians, students, or NYSC members. Our struggle is a peaceful, legally anchored quest for self-determination through a referendum.
We demand an immediate, open, and independent international investigation into the abductions along the Onitsha-Owerri axis and the financial trails of the ransom payments involved.
We urge the public and the international community to look past the political theatre orchestrated from Owerri.
The Biafran Vanguard -The Voice of the people of Biafra.
The case for Biafra and the Igbo unification project have assumed the symmetry of the chicken and the egg. And this video, featuring Dr Katch Ononuju, enriches the conversation in more ways than one, and it bears a hint of a forgotten history.
To those that asked me, hear this:
The delivery of judgment, conviction and sentencing on the same day MAZI NNAMDI KANU moved his objections to jurisdiction of the Court constitutes a grave breach of the fundamental right to fair hearing guaranteed under Section 36 of the Constitution.
Given the gravity of the capital offenses charged, fair hearing demands an objective, calm, and deliberate judicial evaluation. Thus, delivering judgment instantaneously (amidst a hostile courtroom environment culminating in the Defendant's expulsion) creates a reasonable apprehension that the decision was pre-written before oral arguments were made on the day of the judgment.
The Supreme Court in Deduwa v. Okorodudu (1976) 9–10 SC 110 established that justice must not only be done, but must manifestly be seen to be done, and any environment vitiated by hostitility undermines judicial impartiality.
Furthermore, in Gokpa v. IGP (1961) 1 All NLR 423, the court held that rushing proceedings without affording adequate consideration to a defendant’s fundamental challenge to jurisdiction strikes at the root of fair trial.
In Ndukwe v. LPDC (2007) 5 NWLR (Pt. 1026) 1, the apex court affirmed that where circumstances suggest a tribunal prejudged an issue, the entire proceedings are rendered a nullity.
Thus, pre-determining an objection before hearing it violates the basic tenets of fair hearing.
“If I see any of you at Onitsha Head Bridge celebrating that you maintained a 1950s bridge for the South-East, Holy Ghost will kpaiii you there. This country has no conscience. If you see the way the government is showing this bridge everywhere on the internet, you will think it is a newly constructed bridge, without knowing that it is a bridge built years ago. Imagine someone celebrating his car that he parked for over 50 years after repainting it.”

Asaba Massacre: Nigeria Remembers- 59 Years On, And Still No Official Apology
On October 7th 1967, during the Nigerian Civil War federal troops entered Asaba in present-day Delta State and killed hundreds of civilians men and boys who had come out in peace to welcome Nigerian troops and pledge loyalty to One Nigeria. The troops accused them of being Biafran sympathisers and turned their guns on innocent civilians.
Fifty-nine years on, former President Olusegun Obasanjo has appealed for forgiveness and reconciliation but the Asagba of Asaba His Royal Majesty Obi Epiphany Azinge has insisted there can be no closure for his people until a sitting Nigerian President publicly apologises for the 1967 killings.

I want to state for the record that I was honored to meet and get to know @MaziKanuntaKanu while in Hamburg recently. I found him to be extremely bright, humble, faithful, deep and gracious. He is dedicated by blood and oath to serving the best interests of both his brother and the cause, and he does it with integrity.
I have also gotten to know @AloyEjimakor by correspondence, and find him to be equally capable, loyal and honorable.
These two men are the primary, trusted mouthpieces of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. By law - with stiff punishment - an attorney cannot misrepresent a client. What they say MNK wishes to declare, you can take it to the bank.
The reason I say this, some sleazy fringe elements have taken to slandering these fine men. The reason, of course, is to effectively shove a rag down MNK's throat -- to block his trusted means of communicating with the movement, and the world. Then they can claim to be the sole source of truth (and call you a saboteur if you question them). It's all part of their scam.
I won't let them silence MNK. And so I stand up for Kanunta and Aloy.
God bless you.
Nobody Can Wear Mazi Nnamdi Kanu’s Shoes
To Those Expelled Cowards Hiding Behind Cameras In Their Hideouts And Pretending They Can Wear The Shoes Of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, I Have One Simple Message: Come Back To Nigeria And Lead From The Frontline.
You Know The Clowns. I Will Not Name Them. I Have Vowed Never To Give Them a Single Line Of Relevance, And I Will Never Place Their Names Beside The Greatest Freedom Fighter, a Fearless Advocate For Justice, Freedom, And Self-Determination, A Global Symbol Of Resistance, A Mobiliser Of Millions, A Voice For The Voiceless, A Champion Of The Oppressed, And The Undisputed Leader Of Our Time, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu…
It Is Easy To Sit Safely Abroad, Make Videos, Criticize And Attack, But Leadership Is Not About Noise. Leadership Is About Sacrifice, Courage, And Taking Responsibility.
Mazi Nnamdi Kanu Did What You All Can Never Do. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu Did Not Inherit a Movement. He Built One. He Built a Global Platform. He Raised Radio Biafra From Silence And Gave a Buried Nation Its Voice Back. He Founded IPOB And Turned Scattered Grief Into An Organized Demand For Self-Determination. He Carried The Biafra Question From The Villages To The Diaspora, From The Streets To The Courts Of The World, And Forced a People The State Wanted Forgotten Back Into History. He Brought International Attention To The Grievances Of Millions Of People, Mobilised a Generation, Challenged The Nigerian Establishment, And Remained At The Centre Of The Struggle Despite Countless Persecution’s.
Raids Did Not Stop Him. Exile Did Not Stop Him. Abduction, Solitary Confinement, And Imprisonment Have Not Bent Him. That Is The Mantle. That Is The Man. And That Is Precisely Why The Shoes Are Too Big For These Internet Pretenders.
What Have They Built? A Camera🤦🏾♂️, a Slogan😁, a Few Angry Videos😂 And a Safe Hole Outside Nigeria😩. Imagine Sitting Thousands Of Kilometres Away From The People, Recording Yourself In Safety, And Believing That a Few Videos Have Somehow Made You The Replacement For a Man Who Built a Movement And Paid a Heavy Personal Price For It.
It Is Easy To Criticize From Comfort. It Is Easy To Blame From a Distance. It Is Easy To Pretend To Be Fearless When The Biggest Risk You Face Is Your Phone Battery Running Down While Recording Another 30-Minute Video. Come Back To Nigeria. Face The Music. Stand In The Open And Lead, So The People On The Ground Can Decide Whether They Will Follow You.
What Are You Scared Of? Do Not Spill Nonsense Online And Call It Struggle. Take The Bull By The Horns. They Will Not. Because Talking Is Easy. Leadership Is Not. All Of Them Gathered Together Still Cannot Hold What One Man Has Held.
They Can Copy The Language. They Can Copy The Style. They Can Even Sit In Front Of a Camera And Pretend To Be The New Voice Of The People. But You Cannot Copy Sacrifice. You Cannot Copy Legacy. You Cannot Copy Courage. And You Certainly Cannot Copy History.
They Are a Discarded Gang Of Noisemakers, Expelled And Exposed, With Nothing To Offer But More Lies, More Videos, More Slogans, More Excuses, And More Noise.
Our People Are Wiser Than That. They Have Already Seen Through The Performance And They Have Already Left Them Behind. They Know They Are Inconsequential. The Camera May Make You Look Powerful For a Few Minutes, But It Cannot Manufacture a Legacy. The Microphone May Make You Sound Loud, But It Cannot Make You a Leader. And a Slogan May Give You Attention, But It Cannot Give You The Shoes Of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
So Ignore Them. The Shoes Are Too Big. The Legacy Is Too Deep. The Mantle Is Too Heavy For Them To Carry. The Mantle Stays With Mazi Nnamdi Kanu. Mazi Nnamdi Kanu Built His Legacy Through Sacrifice, Courage, And Years Of Standing At The Centre Of The Struggle. Nobody Can Ever Inherit That Legacy.
There Is Only One Onyendu.
There Is Only One Mazi Nnamdi Kanu.
The Rest Are Just Auditioning For a Role Nobody Asked Them To Play.
