I've seen a lot of inappropriate and stupid questions by prosecutors over the years. I can't recall a more outrageous one than invoking a specific religion, challenging the witness' good-faith practice/adherence to that religion and then a point blank statement to the jury that the defendant is charged with committing a crime that the religion deems a "mortal sin." That is mistrial territory and something a first year prosecutor knows not to do. How is this person trying a case as challenging and complex as the Lindsay Clancy case?
A jury found Karen Read not guilty of second-degree murder in the death of her then Boston cop boyfriend, John O’Keefe. But received a guilty verdict for operating under the influence of alcohol. The jury deliberated for about 20 hours.
@SteveSkojec@DanInRome 100%. I ran the math before I went remote. In my law office, I spent 8-10 hrs weekly with colleagues who stopped by my office for questions, to vent, or just yap. I’ve cut that down to one hour. I can control my environment better at home.
@dvorahdavida@SteveSkojec But we have choices. Remote work is not for everyone. If wfh is not serving someone, they have the freedom to seek out employment that is on site. I personally have thrived wfh, as many do. Back to the main point, “fairness” alone is simply not an appropriate argument for this.
@DarekSeve@elonmusk I ran the math on this before I went 100% remote. In my law office, people stopping by to ask questions, vent, or yap took about 8-10 hrs/per week of my time. While WFH, I can actually focus on work, call people back later, and have now cut that time to around 1 hour / week.
His behavior could have been stopped long before things like this broke our hearts to read, his abuse didn’t have to reach me & many others including women, men, & minors.. whom of which will forever traumatize an entire industry. He is a soulless human inside of a systemic problem within the entertainment industry that has been ran by soulless people before he even hit the scene. So many people have tried to warn you, but his charisma fooled you. A lot of people are responsible for keeping him in a place of power & visibility, and if that part resonates for you.. may you feel the same grieving that all of his victims won’t ever be able to fully repair, you were complicit. That needs to be acknowledged before things can truly change. please think twice before you laugh at the jokes circulating.. a lot of people’s lives were changed forever after crossing paths with this man.
#BREAKING: #FBI Boston's SWAT Team has arrested former Stoughton Police Officer Matthew Farwell for allegedly killing Sandra Birchmore. We took him into custody without incident. Details to follow at a 1:45 p.m. news conference with @DMAnews1 at the federal courthouse in Boston.
For which incident? So many to choose from. His involvement in the KR case? Driving his squad car/losing his gun & badge while wasted? His involvement in the Birchmore case? All of the above? #IHaveQuestions#KarenRead#SandraBirchmore
One woman just said "I use marijauna." Judge MS says "we're talking about hardships for the case." She says she takes it every morning. She didn't this morning b/c she knew she had to be here and knew she had to drive. @LawCrimeNetwork#AlecBaldwin
