Today, together with IFRC President @KateForbes_IFRC, we paused for a moment of remembrance @IFRC headquarters.

We paid tribute to 10 volunteers and staff members of our global network that have been killed this year. Last year, we lost 32 of them. But they are not just numbers — they were colleagues, friends, and humanitarians who dedicated their lives to helping others, standing on the side of humanity.

Today, we remembered. We grieved. And we reaffirmed our commitment to protecting humanitarian workers everywhere.

We must #ProtectHumanity.

The 2024 Council of Delegates started today bringing together Red Cross and Red Crescent National Societies, the @ICRC and IFRC.

The Council looks at ways to ensure that the International Red Cross and Red Crescent Movement remains adaptable and accountable.

I'm worried about the safety of our @PalestineRCS teams. Since yesterday, we've lost contact with them in the blackout.

We don't know if people in need are getting help.

I can't stress this enough: civilians, health facilities must be protected.

It's a humanitarian imperative.
