Some guy broke into my house and set up residence in the study room. He says his grandparents used to live in this house and now he won't leave.
My family and I tried to kick him out but he got very violent. He brings in his friends and they help beat us up if we ever try to make him leave.
They keep saying I hate the guy because of his religion. I don't even care about his religion, I just don't like sharing my house with some random outsider who broke in here out of nowhere and took my stuff.
"The poor guy just wants one room to call his own," his friends say in his defense. "You and your family have all the surrounding rooms in the house, and yet you have a problem with the guy having sovereignty over ONE room? That's kind of bigoted and evil."
He keeps throwing stuff at me and my family if we get too close to his door, saying we make him feel afraid. His friends say it's understandable because his room is surrounded by enemies who hate him just for existing, but we don't hate him for existing, we hate him because he forcibly inserted himself into our home and keeps throwing stuff at us.
And what's weird is whenever I explain my situation to normal people they completely understand where I'm coming from and agree the guy is being a dick, but if I talk to the police or the local paper they always side with the guy. Almost everyone in town hates this guy now because of how he's been acting, but everyone in power does everything they can to protect him. It's like there's a total disconnect between the authorities and the will of the public on this particular issue.
It's having a nastier and nastier effect on the community at large all across town. The police have been showing up to arrest anyone who says they think the guy's being an asshole. The paper keeps printing these obnoxious lies telling everyone that me and my family are the real criminals and the guy is actually sweet and awesome. It's really unfair.
Things have been so tense and hostile ever since this guy showed up. I honestly think it would be better if he'd never moved in here at all, but whenever I say that his friends claim I'm saying the guy should be exterminated and try to get me in trouble.
It's a real mess, man.
That guy sucks.
BTW, this nonsense that a lot of Nigerians do with using "nobody knows tomorrow" to get you to overlook bad behaviour - the person that did the bad behaviour in the first place, why didn't he apply the same logic?
Bad behaviour should have consequences.
While we are at it, Former Senate President Pius Anyim has secured a consensus ticket to the Ebonyi state house of assembly for his beloved son.
Umahi’s son is also contesting.
Wike’s son following suit
Buhari’s son too.
The political class is slowly handing power to their beloved children
And like nature, the survival will be of the fittest.. might is right.
I enjoy the proper framing of a "colonial era law". People don't realize just how much homophobia has been forced on much of the world. Queer liberation is intertwined with battling colonialism and imperialism.
Botswana has officially removed colonial-era laws that criminalized same-sex relations from their Penal Code.
The High Court first ruled these laws unconstitutional in 2019, and the Court of Appeal upheld the decision in 2021.
From January to April, this boy was hunted, beaten, threatened and ignored. He named his attackers. He asked for help. He died. Every single person who enabled this from hall reps to school authorities should be held accountable. Silence is not neutral here, it is guilt.
Trending Story: An effeminate 100L student suspected to be gay was beaten to death with a rod in Madonna University, Okija Anambra.
“U think say u don escape, after Easter we go kll u.” Williams Fubara didn’t make it back alive after Easter.
Before his passing he revealed names of the perpetrators, lamenting how they’ve continuous bullied and harassed him, particularly one Nelson; who is the Hall Rep who allegedly coordinates the assault on fem-boys.
Apparently, Williams had reported to the school, but they dismissed it and instead, allegedly empowered the Hall Reps and Hostel Porters.
Who eventually combined with some final year and freshers students to bully and harrass Williams and one other boy for suspected homosexuality, after they seized and combed his phone for gay-evidence and found nothing incriminating.
They harassed him in January, February, March and the final one in April.
“I reported to Father Seratus, they didn’t do anything. Now Nelson is denying he didn’t beat me. I’m scared but I don’t want to show it.” — Williams told a friend in February.
PS: Madonna is a Catholic school.
Before the Easter break, again, they beat him so bad he was bleeding from his mouth and nostrils. Williams choose to remain strong. The school clinic certified him fine, he still told them Nelson did it to him.
“Omo it is over.” — Willams told a friend.
As he got home for the holidays the situation worsened, yet they kept threatening him. He started having seizures, turned out he suffered severe internal bleeding from the recent beating which wasn’t detected for weeks.
Unfortunately, he didn’t survive, he passed away on Thursday.
While the school is yet to address the situation, some of the perpetrators have admitted their role in the bullying, with the caveat that he was already sick and that their actions did not cause his death.
Meanwhile his friends insist they have full testimonies and evidence directly from Williams before his passing.
Last year 2025, the same suspects Nelson and gang, allegedly went around school searching phones of suspected gay students. If they refused to comply, they were beaten.
One time they found a fem-boy community group in one’s phone, traced the other students involved; paraded, humiliated and got some suspended. 10 months later, the same group are now strongly linked to a student’s death.
Meanwhile, close colleagues say Willams only has a feminine charisma, but doesn’t involve in homosexuality because he’s still figuring out his sexuality. But because he cooks for friends in the hostel, the gay-police declared him guilty.

I can’t stand this place. And it is understandable why Nigerians do not help strangers. Came across a young woman today obviously in distress on the road so took her to the nearest police station. This was around 11am. They took me from pillar to post until 6pm.
58,000 Americans died in Vietnam.
Over 3,000,000 Vietnamese died.
And for fifty years, American culture has centered the grief of the 58,000 while treating the 3,000,000 as a backdrop.
As scenery. As context. As "the Vietnam War experience."
They built a wall in Washington with American names on it.
A beautiful wall. A solemn wall.
Good. Mourn your dead.
But understand what that wall does not say.
It does not say why they died.
It does not say what they were doing there.
It does not say what was done in their name to the people whose country it actually was.
It does not mention My Lai, where American soldiers massacred an entire village, old men, women, children, babies, and the officer who ordered it served three years of house arrest before being pardoned.
Three years. House arrest. Pardoned.
For five hundred people murdered in a ditch.
It does not mention the 2.7 million acres of Vietnamese forest doused in Agent Orange, a chemical weapon disguised as herbicide, that is still deforming Vietnamese children today.
Not in 1970. Not in 1985. Today.
Children born in 2020 with bodies twisted by a war their grandparents fought.
And the chemical companies that made it are still in business.
Still profitable.
Still un-prosecuted.
And yet they send us human rights reports.
They grade our democracy.
They warn us about our behavior.
The audacity is so enormous it becomes almost impressive.
Almost.
That’s how I sliced off almost my entire index finger because I was trying to cut a huge sweet potato in half. Since then I just throw the entire thing in the oven please.
