@YIMBYLAND I like the simple, modernist houses and can appreciate their historic value. What makes the street dreary and ugly is the city infrastructure (small grey sidewalk, cracked blacktop, no landscaping), not the houses.

@texasrunnerDFW @FoxNews Procreation and poorly behaved children are separate issues, stop conflating them. For decades (centuries?) the polite etiquette was for children to “be seen and not heard.” Sounds like people crave a return to that tradition—which probably existed for good reason.

@burby_geek @bankertobuilder Well, once upon a time, there was this thing called “civic life” and it happened in city centers. People would spontaneously meet others, interact among social classes, and generally enjoy themselves. I know it’s hard to picture now, but just imagine it.
