Took some time off for mindfulness and chanced upon an old book from college with a quote I still think about a lot.
Anyway, this will be a thread for quotes I like:
So the only options for getting an MRI are 6 weeks from now or send the patient to the ED with a note pinned to their shirt that says “sorry this is not an emergency more of a subacute issue but I don’t know what else to do.”
ICU stories (a boring one...)
This is a story that everybody working in an ICU will see several times/month. It's so common it deserves a separate textbook chapter. Its title: "The elderly/obese patient w multiple comorbidities, now w resp failure/drowsiness, who needs ICU care"
Twitter is so different now than before. A lot of unwanted ads, toxicity, mediocrity, a lot stuff I don't care much about now. The platform's changed but more importantly, I have.
This work has changed me. Better? Worse? Idk. Time will tell.
Even less Twitter from now on fs tho
I've thought of posting some life-altering event that occurred while working here in the ED many times.
Often, I'm just too tired to actually post it. Most of the time I just try to absorb the shock of the event until it becomes the norm. Best it to just write in in my journal.
Residency, Research requirement, and the upcoming In-Service Exam, make it a horrible time to learn that Baldur's Gate 3 looks like an awesome game
