If there were truly a desperate doctor shortage, Congress would have lifted the 1997 residency cap decades ago.

They did not.

Instead they froze domestic training slots, expanded provisional and fast-track IMG licensing in 18+ states, and kept the replacement pipeline wide open.

2,862 PGY-1 positions sat unfilled in the 2026 Match while qualified American graduates were left unmatched.

This was never about shortages.

It was engineered scarcity followed by replacement.

Lift the cap.
Prioritize American doctors.
End the two-tier system.

🚨New York City has FORGOTTEN 9/11!! NYPD sergeant says she wants to see 100,000 women in hijabs serving in the department!!

Sergeant Aml Elsokary, the first NYPD officer to wear a hijab on duty, recently celebrated the number of Muslim officers in the department and set a much larger goal.

“We have 1,200 Muslim officers… 10 in hijab… I’m looking forward to another 100,000 ladies wearing hijabs in the near future as NYPD.”

Elsokary argues greater religious representation would strengthen the department and encourage more Muslim women to join. The NYPD currently has roughly 36,000 officers total.

A police force exists to enforce the law and protect the public, not to serve as a vehicle for rapid demographic or religious transformation.

When senior officers openly push for numbers this extreme, it raises legitimate questions about whether recruitment priorities are being driven by ideology instead of public safety.

Bottom line: NYC is TOAST.
