The 29th 🇪🇺EU-South Africa🇿🇦 Inter-Parliamentary Meeting (IPM) wrapped up yesterday at the @europarl_EN.

Parliamentarians from the #EU and #SouthAfrica focused on South Africa’s #G20 Presidency, strengthening multilateralism, energy transformation and the Clean Trade and Investment Partnership. They also agreed to make the Inter-Parliamentary Meeting a genuine legislators-to-legislators dialogue.

It's a horrible morning in Kyiv. The brutal Russian strikes destroyed entire residential buildings and damaged schools and hospitals. Civilians are injured and killed. There are still people under the rubble.

It is probably time to reduce to zero all of the timeframes that had been given to Putin to demonstrate a constructive approach. President Trump has been very generous and very patient with Putin, trying to find a solution.

Putin does it on purpose. He does not care about any attempts to put an end to the killing. He only seeks to destroy and kill. Because the entire existence of this war criminal is based on this senseless war, which he cannot win but refuses to end. He must face justice.

It's time to make him feel the pain and consequences of his choices. It's time to put maximum pressure on Moscow. It is time to synchronise all sanctions steps. It's time to achieve peace through strength.

The Kremlin’s sick hallucinations aside... In reality, during the Soviet occupation, Estonia’s economy and standard of living collapsed — systematically destroyed by Soviet Russian repression, mismanagement, and colonization. In 1938 Estonia's GDP was 103% of Finland's. In 1992 it was 9%.
This chart simply shows what happened, compared to Finland, from 1938 to 2024. Independence was regained in 1991.
