๐ฃYon gwoup 5 Ayisyen๐ญ๐นdeside trennen Eta Indiana๐บ๐ธLajistis pou diskriminasyon. Nan dokiman plent lan, imigran sa yo atake yon lwa otorite yo adopte, kote yo entรจdi Ayisyen ki vini nan #PwogramBiden yo pou yo fรจ pรจmi kondui ak kat idantite, alรฒske yo kite๐บ๐ฆ Ikrenyen yo fรจl san pwoblรจm. โTheyโll say that we are biased and we donโt want to appear that way. Thatโs choosing power over truth. None of us should have gotten into journalism to make powerful people comfortable. Journalism is a form of activismโ said Nikole Hannah Jones

I donโt have any inside information about al Shifa hospital, which is currently being raided by Israeli forces, but here is some context: In 1983, Israel built an underground operating room and tunnels under the hospital. This is not a secret. Israel has claimed that over the years Hamas added more underground floors and tunnels to the original ones built by Israel. Last weekend, the NYT published a story saying Israel had shared images with the paper depicting alleged secret entrances to the tunnels, though the Times said it could not independently verify them.
On Tuesday, the US said that it has its own intelligence to back up the claims and NSC spokesman John Kirby alleged it is a Hamas/Islamic Jihad command and control center and a site to hold hostages. Al Shifa Hospital staff have denied these claims. (For what itโs worth, so has Hamas.)
Such allegations by the US should be backed up by clear evidence, not a Geraldo Rivera/Al Caponeโs vault-style video presentation featuring an English speaking IDF soldier, as was the case with the video Israel released about al Rantisi Hospital (a key allegation from that โdiscoveryโ has already been proven false). No matter what is or is not found, there is no justification for the repeated attacks against civilian hospitalsโin fact Shifa is the largest hospital treating the most vulnerable people in Gaza, including NICU babies. The mere existence of tunnels, originally built by Israel, does not prove the specific allegations made by the US or Israel.
The standard for such evidence should be very very high. The Biden administration made allegations about Al Shifa Hospital to offer preemptive cover for Israel to raid it and the onus is on the administration to provide irrefutable, clear evidence to support its specific claims.
Good @KenRoth & @hrw are taking a stand on Gaza but we will NEVER forget how they skewed human rights reporting to support US foreign policy of Bush and the US-backed 2004 coup in #Haiti. Hold them accountable.

A huge protest by Jewish Voice for Peace shut down Grand Central Station in NYC yesterday to demand a ceasefire and a halt to the Israel-Hamas fighting.
To be clear: Netanyahu does not speak for the millions of Jews who oppose his cruel and illegal attacks on civilians in Gaza.
The demonstrators are marching to Capitol Hill, just in sight of the capitol. Several protesters just got arrested after unfurling an anti-war banner in the Canon Office Building.
I just joined several Haiti activists & journalists in a Zoom conference call (thanks Jimy Mertune) with Kenyan parliamentarian Babu Owino, who says that there's a "102%" chance Kenyan lawmakers can put the kibosh on the Kenyan deployment, which is hugely unpopular even in President Ruto's own government. He's ready to organize in parliament and the streets toward this end.
A grassroots campaign to push back against this Washington-orchestrated non-UN illegal intervention appears to be underway... Stay tuned. Get involved. Don't give up!
@Joe__Bassey We call on Black soldiers worldwide, regardless of their national army, to refuse joining any imperialist invasion of Haiti, Niger, Mali, Burkina Faso..., all our countries that resist neocolonial slavers, insatiable terrorists & mineral resources thieves.#blacknationhoodmatters

Haiti's plans to construct a canal off a river that the country shares with the Dominican Republic (DR) has brought to the surface simmering tension between the two countries. The DR, which claims that the canal will significantly reduce its share of water, has closed its border with Haiti and halted the issuance of visas to that country's citizens in protest against the canal. Haitians living in the neighboring country have also reported increased harassment from officials there in recent weeks, forcing many of them to return home. Haiti says, despite the threats, the canal project that initially started out as a community project by locals will go on due to its importance to increasing the country's agricultural self-reliance. The project, which has become a unifying factor among Haitians, has also exposed the DR's deep seated hostility towards its neighbor. The Dominican government has for decades cooperated with Western powers that have invaded and occupied Haiti. It has also been called out over its harsh treatment of Black Haitian migrants.

As US officials, including President Biden and Secretary of State Blinken, spend the week in NY drumming up support for a military intervention in Haiti, here is what the largest network of Haitian-American elected officials has to say on the matter. https://t.co/9rF7aUp2Zp
This is big (PLEASE Retweet). @patrickgaspard is a consummate Dem insider. His outrage at @StateDept support for the repressive regime in Haiti is broadly shared by #HaitianAmericans. PLEASE ALSO listen to the interview or read the transcript. https://t.co/VAu3OPFkYm
#Haiti: Tragically, the Ariel #Henry/#Haitian elite/U.S./#CoreGroup strategy is working -- encourage/allow enough gang violence to justify foreign invasion. Friends in Carrefour Feuilles say 80% now favor intervention. @AmbDanFoote@VelinaEC@moniclesca https://t.co/TmY3sU6yaK
