@AlonHafri@talboger It would be interesting to see how such state-change estimations differed in those with altered visualization capacity such as aphantasics. The sample size was large enough to possibly encompass high/low or non visualizers at least as outliers.
@duckprintspress I can't imagine any of those either but it wouldn't prevent me from writing about them. Be mindful of the visualizers as the bulk of the audience as well, just don't let it dominate. Sensory explanation can be useful even for an aphantasic as well.
@ProfJoelPearson@LoevenbruckLN@NeuroscienceNew From what I heard on a recent podcast at Vox some researchers didn't even want to call it a condition. I can see why, the regular joe communities have individuals routinely trying to turn it into a mental illness.
@ProfJoelPearson@_aphantasia I'll sometimes re-prime myself, I'll just feel the 'knowing' of what I'm looking for drift out of my awareness, basically just defocus from the scene and think about the target again. Something like that at least.
@MichaelARanger1 @NASAWebb This has been a pretty common critique of NASA for years. Not enough cameras! :) Yes, I know there are engineering concerns with them, but there is certainly some low hanging fruit here just from an added utility perspective they're valuable sensors.
@ezraklein Do you make no distinction between governments that condone this vs those where it's occurrence is an effect of the unfortunate natural proclivities of those that hide it? This feels like a false equivocation to me.
@evandawson I haven't seen it. No interest though, looks fun from a cultural anthropologist perspective though. My wife is watching Sat Night live episodes from the late 70s and 80s it's a different just that length of time.
@TiannaManon Far more to blame is the medical profesionals that wrote all the prescriptions. Not a one of them thinks they've violated the hipcratic oath
