@bettersafetynet Currently building a little webApp which will list all of my VMs and let me start them headless (no PCI) so I can remote onto them(RDP) or switch the PCI mapping config from 1 to another and start it headed (screens) so I just pick the one I want, hit start and it does it for me!

@bettersafetynet CTF? Sure! Clone my hack box and spin it up over my 4 screens for the week! Then in the evening when I’m needing todo some personal admin work, shut it down, spin up my personalBox and it’s right there!

@bettersafetynet For the last year now I have been running proxmox as my primary machine. I have a dedicated graphics card which I hardware pass through to VM’s and then start them as and please. 20 different machines each time in the desk footprint of a beefy HP workstation!

@TracketPacer I’m curious, what kind of code would a network engineer usually look at? SWE here, limited knowledge of networking, so intrested what you gals and guys do code wise!

@JosephRyanRies Up until recently I didn’t even realise it did this! It seems like a really sneaky way to get past WHQL, making a small shim driver which just loads in other files.. how is WHQL even certified? Just provided with a know working 1-2 channel files by CS? Seems wrong.

@shanselman I threw away all my “old tech” when it went out of date, 486 running 3.1, my commodore, PDA’s, pagers. Now I’m going through a vintage computing stage, but I also look at my I5 laptop and am like “ah don’t need that anymore!” But one day. That could be vintage!? Do I keep it all?

@TracketPacer I’m a software engineer, dabble in ethical hacking, used to work in helpdesk all the way to Ops, but Iv always had somone “taking care” of the network for me. I want to learn what you talk about. What’s your recommendation? Lab hardware? Sim?
