Growing up in the beautiful landscape of Mbamkov, Bui Division, I was surrounded by richness and abundance. The name Mbamkov itself spoke of the incredible biodiversity that once thrived in this region. Large tree canopies, fertile soils, and a variety of flora and fauna made this place a paradise. The flowing river, reminiscent of the majestic river Medreve, added to the natural beauty and tranquility that characterized our area.

But today, if you were to visit Mbamkov, you would witness a drastically different scene. Climate change and humanity's relentless pursuit of agricultural expansion have irreversibly altered the land. The once lush green forests have been replaced by mono-crop plantations, vast stretches of land devoid of the diverse plant and animal species that once called it home. The fertile soils that once supported a thriving ecosystem are now depleted and weakened. The river, which once flowed gracefully, is now polluted and struggling to sustain life.

From a young age, I have been a victim of the effects of climate change. Irregular weather patterns have wreaked havoc on our community, leaving us vulnerable to floods, droughts, and other natural disasters. The sense of helplessness that accompanies these events is overwhelming. As a child, I spent countless nights awake, worrying about the uncertain future of our planet and my community.

It is disheartening to realize that despite my efforts to raise awareness and speak out about the consequences of climate change, only a few people actually listen, and even fewer take meaningful action. The urgency of the situation demands that we all come together, listen to the voices of those who have witnessed the destruction firsthand, and take concrete steps towards mitigating climate change.

Childhood is supposed to be a time of wonder and exploration, where curiosity knows no bounds. It should be a time where dreams and aspirations take root, fueled by a sense of endless possibilities. But, unfortunately, for many children growing up in a world grappling with the effects of climate change, this wonder is clouded by the impending calamity that awaits us all.

We must acknowledge the severity of the situation and the responsibility that lies on our shoulders. It is upon us, as individuals and as a society, to preserve and protect the remaining natural wonders of our planet. We must advocate for sustainable practices and hold our leaders accountable for their actions, or lack thereof.

The future of Mbamkov and countless other regions facing the wrath of climate change depends on our collective efforts. We owe it to the generations to come, to ensure that they inherit a world that is thriving, beautiful, and abundant. Let us not allow the mistakes of the past to define our future. Together, we can make a difference, and in doing so, reclaim the wonders of childhood that are being robbed from our children by climate change.

In China, robot traffic controllers began testing on the streets

Humanoid robots from the company DEEP Robotics have appeared on the streets of Hangzhou, China. They control traffic at intersections, maintain order, and help tourists.

The robots can operate at temperatures ranging from −20 to +55 °C. After the trials, the company plans to improve them and eventually use them to reduce the workload of traffic police.
