7 years tommorrow to the day, Article 370 was abrogated. How many days in these 7 years?

In these 2557 days, not one child of lesser Allah died in stone pelting protests.

Before that, from 2010 to 2019, more than 500 mothers in Kashmir lost their beloved sons to stone pelting clashes that would take place against security forces. On an average, in those 3630 days, a mother lost a child forever every 6 days.

Today, it has been 2557 days, not a single death of a young, budding child. Compare it to a death every 6th day for 9 consecutive, relentless years.

Prior to August 5,2019, Kashmir had lost a cumulative 3 years of academic and business calendar to Hartals and Curfews. So in 30 yrs, from 1989 to 2019, a student in school, college, University, a government officer, a businessman lost 3 yrs of work life in those 30 yrs, which is roughly 1000 days of life, sitting inside their homes, in 10,000 days. Years after years of productive life, lived as prisoners in their homes.

After August 5,2019, full academic calendar days for the first time, post 1989. Students not missing their schools. No hartals, no curfews. Businesses not suffering losses. The government officer having to uphold his duty and having no excuse.

Cinema Halls back again, this after 1989. The culture of people going for their movies at a Theatre next to them, starting once again. Attempts were made to start Cinemas again in those decades of 1989-2019, however they could not sustain, as terrorism consumed them.

Lowest levels of terror recruits, post 2019. The figures being extremely low, compared to the mass numbers from 1989 to 2019.

British Empire did pass the Slave Trade Act (1807) & Slavery Abolition Act (1833), framing Britain primarily as the "ender of slavery"...but a few fun facts:

- When the British Parliament passed the Slavery Abolition Act 1833, it compensated the slave owners, not the freed individuals (£20 Million Payout)

- The British govt borrowed £20 million to compensate 46K British slave owners for loss of "property". This amounted to 40% of the British govt's entire annual budget at the time. But they did not bother much because anyway during that time they were busy looting India.

- The loan raised by the Treasury to pay off slave owners was so vast that British taxpayers were still paying off the interest until 2015.

Why Bank of Baroda paid Rs. 5,700 crore as settlement? Because - Money laundering charges forced Bank of Baroda to pay Rs 5,700 crore. Records from Abu Dhabi, London Courts also show the Bank was working in connivance with BR Shetty's NMC Healthcare in hushing up debts worth more than $5 billion

Apart from this - Bank of Baroda has not yet disclosed how much money they lost in giving loan to debt sunken Shetty's NMC Healthcare. SBI and ICICI Bank also not revealed.

A BBC interviewer asked a Nobel physicist the simplest question in the world: why do two magnets push each other apart. He refused to answer it. What he did instead is the best seven minutes on thinking ever filmed.

The man is Richard Feynman, at home in 1983, no blackboard, no notes, sitting in an armchair.

He does not dodge because he cannot answer. He dodges because he wants you to see what the question is actually asking. So he takes an ordinary sentence, that a woman slipped on the ice and broke her hip, and starts asking why, and every answer opens another why, until the ground gives way.

Then he turns it around on the interviewer with a question about ice that sounds trivial and is not.

The point he arrives at is the uncomfortable one. Every explanation is only a translation into something you already accept without explanation. Magnets have no such translation. There is nothing more familiar than magnetism to reduce magnetism to, which is why every answer you were given at school was a picture, not a reason.

It matters more now than it did in 1983. Any tool will hand you a fluent answer in a second. Knowing which questions actually have a bottom is the part that is still yours.
