Pleasure working with our long-standing partner @GypsyTravellerM providing an authentic and safe space to the men from the Gypsy, Roma and Traveller communities to share their views ahead of The TM annual conference. Thank you @hmpfosseway@MagdalenaSerej@k_tsintsadze
Very excited to announce that we have celebrated our first cohort of #Equality#Advocates@hmpfosseway We believe that small wins, small project, small steps often make huge difference. Eleven Fantastic Equality Advocates celebrated their graduation with family and friends.
Happy International Women’s Day to many fearless worriors I know in the criminal justice sector and to many unheard, unknown, uncompromising sisters across the world.
Let’s fight for our dreams, and our dreams will fight for us 💚

Prisons are at capacity - read this report to find out why: ‘The number of people given immediate custodial sentences has fallen from 98,044 in 2012, to 67,812 in 2022. This suggests that the prison population increase is not driven by more convictions.’ https://t.co/mnAWRBE3jb
The next day @HMP_Humber with @k_tsintsadze to discuss the experiences of ethnic minority prisoners and ways of building better relations with staff. No magic wands but a drive to implement positive change and engaging leadership are key to inclusion for all! #YPG_D&I #ZMT
How is it possible that #HMPPS invested heavily in its dedicated Race Action Programme over the past three years and we still haven’t seen any shift in reducing racial disparity in prisons?!

What a day at #Clinks23. We spoke about collective experiences, conscious & responsibility around #race in the #CJS. Thank you @Clinks_Tweets@AnneFoxThoughts one of the most remarkable leaders in the sector. Indeed, there is nothing bigger than the power of collective action!
☺️looking forward to meeting dear friends in the sector and making new at @Clinks_Tweets annual conference. I’ll be speaking about the importance of local and national advocacy initiatives for reducing racial disparity in the prison system.
We are pleased to see a stellar lineup of speakers and facilitators to speak at the @Clinks_Tweets annual conference in less than two weeks. Our Co-director Khatuna Tsintsadze @k_tsintsadze will facilitate the workshop with Dez Brown @Spark2L
Not to be missed opportunity 🙌🏾
@AaronBeeney This is what caring, professional officers can achieve ☺️J is a real star and spreading hope to his peers. You are greatly missed but admirably remembered (I envy you 😁).
Small steps in the right direction that make our work worthwhile 🙌 You don’t have to wear cape to fight for a better future. Hope is a waking dream indeed and courage is the first step to take. The courage of doing the right thing because it is right. 👏👏👏
Delighted to see @HMPHewell in Green again for the graduation of our 2nd cohort of Equality Advocates. An excellent example of utilising peer-led work & engaging with ethnic minority prisoners to implement innovative & effective ideas #diversity#inclusion#Equality @HMPHewellGov
I’m on my way to the sixth prison this week: met with some incredible people who live & work there, observed their routine struggles, shared with them the burden of despair and the pressure of finding hope. I’m angry at the silence & ignorance that enables the politics of denial.
