Barely a week after the schools reopened for the academic year, second incident of food poisoning is being reported from Amrabad Mandal, Nagarkurnool district, Telangana.

35 students have fallen ill today morning after breakfast at Chenchu Tribal Government Residential School in Mannanur Village, Amrabad Mandal

Shortly after breakfast, students experienced symptoms of diarrhea and became severely ill.

The affected students were first shifted to Mannanur Government Hospital but since there weren’t enough beds, they were shifted to Achampet Area Hospital.

Just a few days ago, similar case of food poisoning was reported from Kamareddy Gurukul School. Immediately after lunch 33 students fell sick and were hospitalised.

All the PR and drama, but ground reality is this.

Remember the hoopla and hype after CM Revanth Reddy re-launched the breakfast program after discontinuing old government’s program? Massive PR campaign was launched, full page paper ads, live coverage of CM’s event, reporters & news channels going gung-ho about it like it was a once in a lifetime thing.

68 students in less than a week fell sick because of the food they ate. Pindrop silence from the media, no questions will be asked.

I don’t understand why there will not be any safety checks on government hostel and school messes like they do with private establishments.

Climate change is real!

22 people died in just one day in Telangana!!

The deaths were due to the extreme heat conditions the state has been experiencing.

Highest temperature yesterday was recorded in Peddapalli, Suryapet district. Temperatures touched 46.5 degrees here.

Last year, 10,200 trees were felled in the state (official numbers). NOT A SINGLE one was planted.

Telangana will continue to experience temperatures between 45-47 degrees till 28th May, at least.

After putting in 20 plus years in journalism, and working with some of the top media companies and probably being the first female Editor-in-chief of a Telugu TV channel - the Telangana police decided to strip me off of my respect, dignity and portray me as a criminal.

The CM then goes to the Assembly and talks about how “journalists” should be identified specifically. Like my university masters degree or awards & accolades I have, didn’t matter. Of course he spoke a lot more.

But! This picture was specifically released to dehumanise me,
to vilify me for an interview done by my team @pulsenewsbreak of a 70 year old Dalit man critical of the CM.

Anyway! The police really, really wanted to prove me as a hardcore criminal and after 20/30 police men dragged me from home at 5am, they weren’t done. After a whole day of series of attempts to break me down, they drag me to a corner at Gandhi Hospital to click this picture.

Then the top guys in Telangana Police held a press conference, released my picture like this and of course the police talk about how I am a criminal who had to be apprehended pre-dawn.

BUT Telangana Police will never release a photo of POCSO accused Bandi Sai Bageerath ONLY because his father is the Union Minister who shouldn’t be name.

“Equality before Law”, is for the Constitution.

But like Orwell said - “All animals are equal, but some animals are more equal than others”!!!
