We had a very engaging meeting with the Uganda Investment Authority (UIA) team earlier today, where we discussed investment priorities and opportunities for deeper collaboration.
The conversation was insightful, and we are excited about the collaborative opportunities ahead, particularly in supporting capacity building initiatives and strengthening investment promotion efforts.
A big thank you to the UIA team for the fruitful discussions. We look forward to the next steps!

MMAKS Advocates, together with Slaughter and May convened a roundtable discussion with Ministry of Finance, Planning & Economic Development focused on mitigating barriers to project financing for infrastructure projects in Uganda.
The engagement brought together key stakeholders to discuss the challenges affecting the bankability of infrastructure projects and to explore practical legal, regulatory, and policy interventions that can enhance investor confidence and sustainable financing for these projects.
The discussion underscored the importance of aligning legal frameworks, risk mitigation mechanisms, and government policies to facilitate efficient project structuring and financing to ensure project success and ultimately Uganda’s socio-economic transformation.
Such collaborative dialogues between Public and Private sector actors contribute meaningfully to shaping a more enabling environment for infrastructure development and private sector participation.
